I just purchased a Hewitt cantilever style boat lift and put it together yesterday. We are getting ready to put it in the water but have no idea how. We have a concrete seawall and where the lift is going is about 4-6 feet deep. We are looking at floating it into place but have no idea what to use. Any suggestions?

The Hewitt lifts are pretty light (if it's the one I'm thinking of). If you are moving it to the water - lift it over the seawall and place it the shallow area. Then, get 2-3 guys, pick it up and RUN with it gets to where you want (determine that before you start moving). Since it is not full of water - it should be easy to move. Alternatively, put it on a row boat and float it our. Then, take each side off the boat and you are done. The harder part is getting it out (if you have to remove it for winter). The suction combined with being full of water make it difficult to get out. But, you can cross that bridge when you come to it!!!!

this is one good use for tubes. put one or two under each side, float it where you want it, let the air out of the tubes
