I currently have a 14X18 OJ Nibral on my 99 Sunsetter VLX - 325 horse Monsoon that needs to be reworked and I really need a spare prop anyway.

The question: I found a really good deal on a Cutter 14 X 18.5 (which Cutter says is acceptable on my boat) but I'm concerned about losing any holeshot.

Opinions?

I don't think you will notice enough difference to worry about it. You usually need to swap about 2 or more on the pitch to see a real difference. If you are going to have yours reworked for a spare, get the 18.5 and when yours comes back, swap them out and use the 18.5 as the spare.

Thanks Chris - that was kind of my inclination but I wanted a second opinion to make sure I wasn't being a fool just for the sake of saving a couple hundred $.
