Knowing there is a sexy Malibu under that cover makes the trailer look immaculate!! LOL Now that's a custom trailer!

Michael, what size of tires and wheels did you go? And did you leave your fenders stock width?

So is with a 18" wheel how is the trailer going to handle the bumps? I'm assuming you really can't put alot of different size tires to fit with that set up. I was thinking of going with a 20" wheel but I'm worried that I might not have enough tire to handle the bumps and protecting the boat. What do you guys think?

The 20" tires on mine are 275/45/20's and have plenty of sidewall to handle the bumps. The downside to 20's is that your whole setup is very tall and it may not fit in a standard garage door (even with tower down).

Deez Nuts The tires and wheels are as Hate N Pain posted. The fenders are 11" wide the trailer was built by Boatmate as a custom order. So far I have pulled it from Indiana to Illinois,Wisconsin,Michigan and Kentucky about 2500 miles. Pulls great no problems.

Owen @ BoatMate is the best. Here is my custom trailer he did for my XSTAR last winter! The LED "runway lights" are slick for sure. I love the wheels (18's). Too bad AXIS decided to use them as well so they are not as unique anymore.

I changed the wheels and tires after I purchased my boat and trailer. The trailer is a Boatmate. As you can see in the first pic I had the standard wheels and tires with the standard width stainless fenders. I replaced the stock wheels and tires with 18" Centerline wheels and Nexen tires. I also had to change out the fenders and go to the 10" wide stainless fenders. Boatmate sold me the wider fenders. I had to use a 1 1/2" spacer on the spare tire mount to get the new wheel and tire to clear the trailer. What a night and day difference it make in the looks! I also changed all the lights out and installed the LED versions.

So I know the 20" wheel won't work due to my boat barely fits in my garage now with the tower down, so will the 18" wheel with the right size tire increase the height from the stock set up? Also where is Boatmate located, I live in the NW so not sure if I would have to ship or not?

Deez Nuts, With the 18" wheels and tires in does make the trailer set higher. I can't tell you how much because I didn't measure it before I changed them. When you pull a trailer with low profile tires you don't have all the sidewall flex that you have with the standard trailer tires. So you have to be carefull not to drop it off the shoulder of the road or not to get the wheel against the curb. You can check out BoatMate at: www.boatmatetrailers.com They will supply you with the fenders and you can order the wheels from any company you choose. The bolt pattern is 5 lug 4.5" bolt circle. According to Boatmate the wheels need to have a load rating of at least 2000lbs and zero offset. I used Centerline Aluminum wheels. I chose those because of there light weight and strength. Also for the first 3 years they will repair curb damage if needed. They are 18 X 8 with a +12mm offset. www.centerlinewheels.com

Whats the price range on these boatmate trailers? Thinking it may be time to upgrade, pretty disapointed with my trailer.

Personally I think the spare tire on the side completely ruins the look. Not sure why they do it that way, unless they are trying to show off more "bling" with an extra tire hanging off there. Much cleaner look with the spare mounted under the trailer like Extreme does.

Jimmy_Z, Extreme mounts the spare both ways. Mine is an 07 Extreme and it is side mounted.
