shane is the illest rider on the planet. i don't care what anyone says. to me he kills it harder than anyone. and you know he is the king of the nose press did you see that in wbm this month.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought that pic was straight ridiculous. I was thumbing through the mag this weekend and couldn't believe the amplitude. Each year, Shane continues to go harder and bigger. Mad props!!!

Shane's motto is GO BIG OR GO HOME, and if its not pressed why bother tryin. I think he's the most stylish rider period. And my favorite. HE rips.

remember that he is at the peak of his jump. so the double up roller that he hit is way behind him so he really had a big a$$ wake to hit you just cant see it. i love that motto

Look at the angle of the rope. it appears to be going straight ahead that means the tower would have to be 15 feet high???

i'm pretty sure s. bonifay wouldn't stand for use of adobe. that would be social and professional suicide if that leaked. and pat, the rope isn't going straight ahead. take another look. he's probably riding at 85'.

are you kidding me?!?!? have you seen relentless? his section is chalked full of double-ups of equal or higher amplitude. Not to take ANYTHING away from shane at all because he rips but I was hitting triple ups the other day and just because he is 20 feet in the air doesn't mean he rode away.

I saw Shane and other pros ride at the trauma tour. I would say the biggest air I saw was 15 feet below that. If its not shopped he must have jumped off a bridge with the rope in his hands.

Remember he is riding with a 90+ft rope. So the angle from the boat to the tower would not need to be that great. Plus you dont know if there is slack in the line from the handle pass.

Sorry, that is true if the length of rope were 85 to 90 feet angle would be less intense. Just jealouse, you would have to add 10 of my jumps together to get that high ;)

Sometimes camera location/angle can have a lot of effect in a picture. Keep in mind that Shane's not the tallest guy in the world. If you break it down it's really not that unbelievable. That picture is awesome. Shane went HUGE on it. Calling photoshop is a pretty hefty acusation.

the biggest thing I have ever been in the boat for was Ross Gardner doing a 900 off a triple up of a nonweighted X-9. He went HUGE! He almost forgot to spin, wasnt expecting the boot and his eyes got big as he looked at us in the boat then just started spinning!

Has anyone realistically seen someone go that high in person? It's reality check time. Shane obviously can go big but come back to earth. The photo is a cool one but if its not enhanced somehow it was a brilliant shot(camera angel + funky lens). I guarantee it didn't look that huge from the boat. By the way, what's the big deal about people spazzing out about enhanced photos. Most magazines are full of them (another hefty accusation). Who cares.

He is definitely going big in that picture. if the rope is angled down towards the tower i would think that the people in the boat thought it was pretty big too. as for the biggest air i've ever seen? chad sharpe's tail glide at park's double up comp last year was probably bigger, and i have antbug's picture of jacob valdez off a double up that looks alot bigger than that. it still amazes me that anyone can go that big though.

a triple up is a double up but a tad diferent. when u turn to make ur rollers u kink ur path. this causes the rollers to come together more and creates a double up that is over head high. if u hit it u will easily boost 15 feet in the air. we have video of us hittin them and the rider completely disapears from the view of the people in the boat.

I rode with ross gardner this past summer on my friend's air 210 and he was throwing some glides and 9's that could put that to shame. Dont get me wrong, i think shane is one of the best riders on the scene right now and his style is wicked awesome but tons of people out there go that big. I know ross does and i'm surprised ross isnt plastered all over wbm.

Thanks for posting the pic everyone, it is absolutely amazing! Jonm, trauma tour was a horrible representation of riding, in my mind at least. The condiditons were horrible, the boat wasnt exactly stacked and the riders just werent into it. I def would not set trauam tour as a standard for anything

shane definitely does mad stuff with style. This past season at wakestock he rode up the course doing the queens wave, it was hilarious. He also did a great nosepress. That air there is sick! (Message edited by dyonisus on October 10, 2005)

I remember seeing this and didn't notice a vest. I can't tell if he has a vest on or not from the pics above. WBM said a few years ago they would not publish pics behind the boat unless they had a vest on. I have the mag but it is at a friends to verify this. Anyone? I know Jet Pilot makes vests so I don't know why it wouldn't also want to show off its vest.

The thing with the Valdez picture is that there is no reference to how high he is. Not trying to take anything away from him because I've seen other pics and vids and I know he goes huge. But that pic doesn't do the guy justice.

And that was what the advertisement was for wetsuits. And though it is debatable I don't where one when I have a full suit on. And IMO I actually think I float better than having a vest on.

Here is the picture of Sharpe's tailglide from last year from inside the boat. The picture from outside the boat (in July '05 WBM alongside Park's '05 biggest air) is much better.

All you skeptics - watch the vid from Parks double or noting contest. Everyone in that vid gets insane air. Crazy footage all around. How bout Parks's 15' - 20' indy glide to dive - crazy. Brad - your measuring from the top of the wake that is approx a 13.5'. Measuring from the water level that jump is over 15' Shawn - Eddies indy glide is big, but not even in the ballpark when compared to Shanes pic at the top.

chad sharpe consistently throws huge airs...which is why he's my favorite rider. nothing defines wakeboarding to me like an enormous air and a simple, non-invert trick.
