Now that we have the new Wakesetter VLX on the way, I guess it's time to sell the current WakeWorld Wakesetter Escape LSV. I was hoping y'all could help me with pricing this bad boy. I have no idea what to ask for it, but here are the specs. Any input would be appreciated.

2000 Malibu Wakesetter Escape LSV
- V-Drive
- 22' 6" in length
- 97" beam (I think)
- Seats 13 people
- 230 hours
- 325hp Indmar Monsoon MPI EFI V-8 Engine (I think)
- Titan Tower with three board racks (two Wake Designs, one quick-release Titan Battle Rack), four lights (two forward, two back) and two speakers
- MLS Center Ballast System
- The Wedge (equivalent to 1000 lbs of ballast)
- 55 Gallon Gas Tank with fillers on both sides
- JVC CD/AM/FM Stereo and amp with six speakers in boat and two on tower
- Custom black bimini with "cowskin" stripe down the middle
- Boat cover
- 4-Blade prop
- Three-vent heater
- Hot water shower
- Pop-up cleats (4)
- Docking lights
- Removable table
- Built in coolers under bow seats
- All white with 2001-2003 logo sticker
- A few nicks on the vinyl
- Gel coat looks great
- White, dual-axle Extreme trailer with new paint and brakes, chrome rims, swing away tongue and spare tire

Malibu Description: The Wakesetter 23 LSV is spacious and luxurious with an edge on attitude. They developed the Wakesetter 23 LSV to provide wakeboarders the high-end luxury, performance standards, instrumentation, comfort and size previously reserved for the sport and slalom market. This boat’s goal is to provide huge rampy wakes for the riders and plush interior for the driver and passengers.

2000 tickets x $30 each = raffle to give it away and absorb cost of new boat with enough left over to buy gas all season...

2000 Malibu with 230 hours? Dave, you need to get away from the computer and ride more.

I like Ryan's raffle idea... You could actually sell the tickets for more than that... Maybe $100 each? I'd do it, that's a great idea.

Yeah, I'm liking the raffle idea too. I think $100 is a little steep, though. The only thing you would have to do is to find a way to gaurentee that you could get enough people to sign up and buy tickets. But if you could do that, it just might work.

At the WSSR raffle I hit 5 out of 10 tickets so you know I'm down for a Bu raffle.

That raffle is a really interesting idea. However, I'm sure it's a legal nightmare. I'll talk to the lawyer and see what he thinks.

dave,
looks like you would need to find the appropriate revenue and taxation code that applies to ww before holding any kind of raffle? i think we might be able to get away with "fraternal" or "social" organization?

here is a link that might help:

Sounds like raffles are illegal unless you're a non-profit. Oh well!
Old     (blake_hughes)      Join Date: May 2004 Location: Weatherford, Texas       05-01-2005, 10:14 PM Reply
David

Yeah, they're illegal, but that's only if you tell someone... If I landed a boat for $50-$500, I wouldn't say a word... It could be a secret?

This is an interesting subject for me. I have the same boat, but a 2001, and I will probably sell it this year. Mine however will have over 800 hours.

It needs to be an "opportunity" drawing, not a raffle. Raffles are illegal as Blake said.

an asking price of $34-35K seems to be fair for this kind of boat.

I'd buy that for a dollar!!
