hey PJ I don't know exactly where your at but if Pedro is your home lake your close to me. I have gotten a few prices for my 03 VLX and I have got to say WetBox towers is the most competitve with the best equipment in my opinion. He advertises on here but how I met the owner was he stopped by one day while I was wiping the boat down. We talked for a little bit and things have progressed from there. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but going to soon. He runs out of Modesto and can get most any brand you want. (End of commercial).

Before the speakers went in the box I screwed box onto foot kick panel and on the outside of box I used a S.S. strap from front of box up under dash. It all worked out well but definetly took some work and planning to put things together in the correct order.

Anybody find or know a way to keep their CDs from skipping on choppy water? (other than XM) PJ, this is something you should keep in mind, cause it drives people nuts. I almost wished I had a cassette deck in my stereo head. Then I could rig an adapter to a portable CD player that has decent anti-skip protection. Just a thought.

Gregg The VLX's have an MP3 port. I know what you mean about the skipping... annoying as hell. We are getting the MP3 player soon to solve that problem.

We have a MP3 CD changer mounted under the dash. It skips less (slightly) but is still far from acceptable.

I like, I like! When I run into ya this summer PJ, you'll need to demo it for me. Do you just run it into a "line in" on the stereo head? Does it have a mounting bracket? If it were bluetooth, that would be the real guano.

Thanks Alan, I think after seeing your set up, I got some changes to make. Does it rattle the heck outta your dash? Is that a heater tube under the dash and in the open bow walk way? (Message edited by sdub on May 09, 2003)

sdub, Yes it is the optional 3 outlet heater and it makes the sub box extra chalenging to fit everything. If you do not have the heater the install will be much easier I think. I just put this system together and so far it has no rattles in the dash but I am only powering these with 400 watts, well under what they can handle. Will see. The box is a subzone HK-102LQ and fits like it was made for the spot.
