So both of my amps have started cutting out while we are out on the lake. They both flash the LED's and the manual for the amps say that means that they are not receiving enough power from the boat. What do I do to troubleshoot this? The amps are JBL Marine 4 Channel amps.
Maybe you should first fill us in on your electrical system (i.e. number of batteries, alternator output, etc.). Also, how many watts are your amps putting out and what class are they (A, A/B, D, etc.).
I have not tested anyting wiht a volt meter. I belive the wiring wiring to the pwr is 8 gauge (I used the monster amp wiring kit)
I have 1 deep cell battery and the stock alternator. The amps (2 of them)push 145 RMS but I dont have the gain turned all the way 8up. And I have 4 speakers hooked up. Not sure what class but its the JBL MA6004.
test the voltage at the amp to validate the amp "mode" Your voltage woudl haev to eb really low to trip the amp...most will run down to 11.1-11.2...almost to where the battery is dead. Are the connections tight?
