Centurion Elite V 1996

I am about to buy a Centurion Elite V-Drive. Does anyone have any info about the wake? I am installing 1000lbs of ballast in back and 600 in front.

You'll need more up front.
I tend to run with about 150 in each locker, a 250 on the rear seat, 375 under the side seat, 250 behind the driver, 400 of stock center tank and about 250 in the bow.
Most of my ballast in near the center of the boat but that's by choice. This boat does need a bit more in the bow if putting most in the lockers as opposed to near the middle.

You should just talk to a person that ushered you to the dealer and listen to what he says. let me know when you test drive it.

I all we use is the center ballast and about 7 or 8 people and the wake is great for us. I do hear alot people say that the Elite V likes ballast up front.

Kris, I have a 98 Elite V and have 2 350's in the back, and 440 in the bow. That's close to same ratio you are talking about, and it works for us. Of course, we can move people around.

Thanks Charles! Looks good to me. How did you distribute the weight in the boat, and how far back from the boat are you riding?

we had about 700lbs up front and I think we had three in the boat, rope is at 75'. I think speed was about 22.5-23 mph. You can add more in the rear but you will also have to try and balance out the front.

hey charles nice lookin wake! Where do you normally launch from? I live in Manteca and every once in a while, we launch our boat off March.

we launch out of Ladds at the end of March, get a yearly pass there and it is close to the house.

Kris, sorry it took a while to get back to this thread. The wake is big and nice shape back to 70' at 22 mph. Beyond that it gets a little washy. Can't help you much with comparisons. I don't do much of the riding, but my teenager and his friends go big behind this boat; enough air time to do inverted tricks. The wake is not their limitation. They have gone behind a new SAN Team Edition, and yes, they could go bigger behind that boat. IMO, the newer wake specific boats have refined the hull to move the sweet spot further back, allowing the rider more speed/energy coming into the wake to go bigger. I could add more weight to increase the wake, but I would sacrifice some hole shot. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 4-blade prop to help w/ that.

Thanks richard, That is the speed I ride at, and about the same length of rope. I am spending about 16,000 for this boat so I guess I shouldnt expect a 40,000 dollar wake, but it seems that this boat puts off a good wake for the money.

Kris, I have that same boat....just a newer model 2001. Check my profile for a wake pic. center ballast full. 400 lbs in the back. 250 up front. 3 people. Speed is 20.5. my son is 65 feet back. The wake cleans up even better at 22. you will be happy with this boat.

I have to put a tower on first. I talked to Melissa yesterday, and everything is a go, all I have to do is bring my boat up there and take my new one home. After a test drive of course.
