With a narrow flat hull and high freeboard all you need to add is a tower and some ballast and you've got a great wakeboard boat. In fact if you look at the lines of this you can see where Nautique stole they hull design from! Owned by the manager at Sunnyside, N. Lake Tahoe this Garwood is supposedly worth over a mil.

For those who don't understand the appeal of such a boat, try to realize that the owners probably don't need anything. They probably have all the useful stuff they could ever use. A boat like that is just a luxury...like diamonds...kind of pointless but beautiful, nonetheless.

Agreed, my million would buy something like this, although that would probably only cover about a quarter of it, so I'd have to finance the other $3 million or so. Wonder what the monthly payments would be on that.

For a million I'd take this little guy. It set the v-drive speed record at around 215 mph. I may even have a around 100K left over to put gas in it and rebuild the engines every 30 hours.

It set the V bottom speed record, and not at 200mph, it broke the record of around 160mph.

The fastest Tunnel Hull last year at Lake of the Ozarks Shootout was the Callan Marine Turbine boat, at 215

I like the fire extiguisher placement. All that teak oil, and wood. There is probably an extinguisher within arms reach from any spot on the boat.

I've skiied behind an old Chris craft like that, and you're right...it'd be a better wakeboard boat. Those dudes are heavy..so no need for ballast I guess!

That looks a lot like a Hacker-Craft. They're beautiful boats with impressive craftsmanship.

However, they're way less than $1M. The H-C site doesn't give prices, but new-looking used ones go for well under $100K.

The difference is that the gorgeous Chris Craft at the top of this post (it was prolly built mid 1930's to mid 1940s) is that it will go UP in value every year if it is well kept.

Everything mentioned as an alternative for $1 million will go down in value VERY quickly

"Dispatch" a 1931 33' Triple Cockpit with a 650HP 12-cylinder Rolls Royce engine was the second to last 33-foot runabout built by Gar Wood. She was purchased and launched by Arthur Bourne at Obexers under her original name "Dispatch." Sold to Stanley Dollar and renamed "Wynchwood" in the 1950s, she was purchased in 1971 by B.C. "Short" Wheeler who named her after his lovely wife Kathryn. Now owned by Gar Woods Grill & Pier and maintained at Sierra Boat Company, she again wears the name "Dispatch" and is on display at the pier on calm days. Also, Not worth a million.

I'd say that this from where CC. got their designs from. It's an Italian Riva woody.

Those Riva's are much newer boats than CC. They are styled after the Chris Crafts and other wooden boats mentioned above. They are very expensive as well...but very cool looking.

ChrisCraft and Riva have been both been building boats for a long time. ChrisCraft built their first boat in 1874, Riva built their first boat in 1842 and are both still building boats today, here is a pic of the new Riva also taken at the Tahoe Boat show This one goes for 1.6 Million
