Depends more on box design and location then it does on brand. BTW I've had really good luck with the solobaric kicker drivers. (square shaped).

Kicker L5,L7 or JL, only thing with the Kickers are they need a lot of power to sound good in a small box.JL has a few different subs to choose from.

Ty, I had a 12" kicker L7 with a small box that I found on Ebay from SonicElectronics. It absolutely slammed in my 99 Grand Cherokee. I plan on getting one for my boat in a few months.

great loud btu still good sounding sub for a small box is the adire audio brahma 12. I run mine in a 1.2 cube box (needs 1 after displacement) and it is the best sub I have owned. With 800 watts I have hit a 144.6 spl in my car and know I can get more with better power and box.

L7 will take more power move, all depends on your amp power. Both will work well.
