I have a 01 Mobius w/ a 350 in the locker and a 550 and a 300 in the back. Any one else weigh differently?

I'm just starting my winter project of adding more weight to my 04 Mob LS.

I was looking at around 400# in the front locker, plus another 450# in the rear locker (yes, I've re-inforced the floor of that locker!). That's in addition to the factory tank under the back seat of roughly 400#.

You'll have to wait till next spring to find out from me if this worked out ok.

i thought weighing any boat was the same, 40/60 on direct drives, and 50/50 on v-drives.

Last weekend in my 2001 Air Nauti we had 400# stock in the back, 375# on top of that, 400# in the locker, 450# in the bow, 250# each side of the engine, and 170# lead in the bow. Grand total~2245# + 2 guys, 2 girls, 1 kid. The wake was nice, but I think we're going to go to side seats and raise it another 300-400#.

Anyway, you should probably add up front. Like they said : 60/40 back/front

Does anyone worry at all about the weight capacity of the boat as posted? Just from the standpoint of staying above the water line I would think some of this is getting a little crazy.

Nacho,

I rode in that boat before I bought mine. It's the main reason I went with mine. With that weight configuration, you get a large firm wake with a nice transition. I run 1000lbs in the locker and a 550lb on either side of the motor. My hull is essentially the same as the inboard version.

I put 350lbs in the locker of my Mobius until I found out that the fuel tank sits under the locker along with all the related hoses. Dealer said that the locker was designed to hold no more than a 100lbs evenly distributed. I have had the boat for two years and still can't find the perfect wake on it.

Reuben,
I have 2001 mobius. I use the Skylon Locker sack -claims to be 600lbs. I use a fly high tube sack under the rear seat along with some sand bags probably about 450-500lbs. I also have another 400lbs in easily movable weight. I tried to make it so all of my added weight was out of sight.

Be careful in adding a ton of weight in the back storage compartment. It was not designed for a lot of weight but can be reinforced. There have been issues with people messing up their gas tanks putting to much weight in the very back on the Mobius-this may have changed on newer models.
