Hey, i just called my dealer and Made sure I got one. Not a Bad little freebie for someone set to buy a boat. thanks for posting this, but you can't have my Ipod (if I ever see it) Remember, you can get a sig 196 for mid 30's, so a 35K I pod might be a better deal for some.

What is the official "Boat Show Season" in actual dates?? I assume it is in that fine print somewhere. My order just went in a little while ago. Nevermind, it is January 1, 2005 - April 30, 2005 (Message edited by tdeneka on December 22, 2004)

scott a, Ipod mini is accually 4GB not 5. Since for advertising and simplicity reasons 1000 MB = 1 GB, but in Real life 1024MB = 1GB (the way a computer sees it). When apple or any other hard drive vendor says its 4 GBs its really only 4000 MB (3.7GB) NOT 4096 MB (4GB).

Oh, yes a 120 GB Western digital only has 117.19GB of space according to your PC.

Your math is wrong. 1024MB x 4 = 4096MB or 4GB 1024000000 x 4 = 4096000000 Bytes = 4 Giga Bytes There has to be room for the OS hence less capacity. Chris Get the Grip you Deserve www.wakejunky.com

ah ok. if its a 4G ipod i can see 3.7 usable. i just read "5G" ipod in grant's first post and was confused because no OS should take up 1.3 gig of space haha. well not in a 4 gig device, at least.

"just joshin im not calling anyone a neard" I noticed the same thing in the photo but never thought anything about it. I was intrested in how a 5 gig is really less than 5 gig. I didnt think they made anything smaller than 5 g

The OS on a Ipod is not 300MB.... That's a little overkill. 4GB is just a simple upscale conversion for easier talks. Instead of saying that your HD is 3,732422443 Bytes, you can say it's 4GB.

Wake junkey, my math is correct and matches what you typed. What I typed is Perfectly correct. The IPODs OS, no matter how big it is is still stored on the 3.7 GB of space. Tommy is right, its about the communication.
