Does anyone know what the price is going to be? I am sure it is in the mid 50K to Low 60K.

Word on TheMalibuCrew.com is the 21v will be around $45k with a tandem axle trailer.

Hey Mike, where is the ad for your boat?

I can't believe the VLX is now going for $45k. That is a lot of boat for the money. I am not sure how entry level that price point is when you compare it to the Moomba's. I think they should sell the old Vride with the V23 hull bare bones for under $39k and really kill a price point boat. They should take a lesson from Harley Davidson and push owners to upgrade within a a year in order to recoup revenue from the loss leader.

Spencer- that is not the VLX that is priced at 45 it is the new VRide. The new VLX is a totally new design and you will prob see a MSRP of around 65000.00 I would guess...Sorry to bust your bubble

I could be mistaken, but I think that Spencer is suggesting that the new 21v is the 05-07 VLX hull

so you could essentially get the older VLX for $45

if that's true.....I guess the resale on my 2007 is gunna go down

The new vride is the old vlx from what I understand

Yeah, I think I would be a little bummed if I paid top dollar for a new VLX last year. Just goes to show you what they COULD have been selling VLXs for. Big margins.

the 09 vride 21 will have the same hull as the 08 vlx, but it wont come with the same features. most of the standard features on the 08 vlx will be either options or you wont be able to get them on the vride.

and jrod, mastercraft does the same thing.

45k is the base price but comes without a lot of the fun options. I found that out the hard way last boat show when I liiked at V rides expecting a tick over 40k and the boat they had there was 53k with some options. If that is what they call a budget boat, I am out of the new boat game for sure. I dont need a payment like that for a toy.

A 21ride/Vride next year is going to be upper 40's till you put ballast, monsoon, racks, bimini, and other stuff on the boat. The 21ride will be a nice boat for sure but I wouldn't be afraid of an 07/08 VLX their are still differences. Today's Vride is gone, but the Iride will still be around...at least that is the latest info I got.

I was talking about the V25 hull on the 2005 and up VLX which is now the VRide.

That said I don't think too many people will buy it. From the dealers I have talked to recently sounds like there are plenty of 2007 and 2008 boats sitting. Cash talks and BS walks.

As an "entry" level boat to be used to "ride," one would think they would have kept it at an entry level price by losing the chrome billet and LEDs but keeping the ballast system. How can the center tank be an option? The front tank shouldn't be an option either. This boat needs weight up front!

Last Sunday I had 1000 lbs in the bow of my 05 VLX -- 400 lb bow tank, a 440 lb sack and 160 in pop bags. The wake was SICK!!!

My bad, it was an LSV. Sorry, nu bu, didn't mean to offend you!

There is no bow ballast option for the 2009 vRide :-(

Guess there will be a lot of people retrofitting the 09 Vride with an integrated bow sac.

I bought my 08 VLX knowing full well it would be the V-Ride this year. I wanted it to be loaded though and I didn't want to take a chance on the 09VLX hulls when the 05 to 08's already proven. Not bummed at all.

my dealer has an 09 vride same hull as vlx but that is about it. They have it priced in low 50s with very few options.

What's your impression of this boat? FWIK it shares the hull with the 05-08 VLX, but not the deck.
Standard equipment is AFAIK:
Illusion Tower,
Precision Speed Control
Malibu Launch System – Rear Ballast System

The options i know of are:
midship-ballast,
dual batteries,
dripless shaft seal,
monsoon or hammerhead motors,
power wedge,
some gelcoat patterns,
sound packs

Aside from the bow ballast it looks like one could build a very decent wake-boat out of it.

I'd go with the power wedge, center ballast, monsoon (now 350hp) motor, dripless shaft seal, dual batteries and probably the soundpack 1.
This should sum to something like mid 50s.

Is that a good deal, taken that you could get a fully loaded 07 vlx with low hours for the same price?
