The relay may not have been bad, it could have just had a bad connection. I had a similar problem and took a zip tie and tied it around it long ways really squeezing the relay into each other (male/female) It has something to do with how tight they fit, I haven't had a problem with it since. First 195 hours no problem, 195 - 200 problem with relay, since zip tie trick no problem 10 more hours. You may want to keep a few zip ties for future use and or one each of the 3 relays that control the computers on the engine. They run about $19 each, small change to keep you on the water and not ruin a trip out of town.
