Just a heads up for the pcm users out there:

I was making a turn to pick up a down rider and my engine quit. It would turn over but seemed like I had a fuel delivery problem. After some head scratching and fuse ******** ( looking at the fuel pump fuse and all the rest) I ended up being towed in.

I took it to the shop and they quickly figured out it was the ecm. This is the computer that contols everything that goes on with the engine.

This module had failed causing the fuel pump not to run.

Thanks to the guys at ski masters water sports and the PCM warranty I was back in business in less that a day.

Has anyone else had a similar failure?

The relay may not have been bad, it could have just had a bad connection.

I had a similar problem and took a zip tie and tied it around it long ways really squeezing the relay into each other (male/female)

It has something to do with how tight they fit, I haven't had a problem with it since.

First 195 hours no problem, 195 - 200 problem with relay, since zip tie trick no problem 10 more hours.

You may want to keep a few zip ties for future use and or one each of the 3 relays that control the computers on the engine. They run about $19 each, small change to keep you on the water and not ruin a trip out of town.

Thanks for the information. We checked all relays and connections but maybe we missed something.

I like zip ties and I will buy a couple of relays and fuses! Thanks again for the feed back.

All you have to do is either a) take it to your dealer to fix the connections or, b) undo the 3 relay connections and take something skinny and pointy to push the tabs so that they will have a better contact.
