I have a pic of me taken in front of a huge sign and I want to take the text out of the pic on the sign. Besides using the rubber stamp, is there an easy why to take out the text?

I would use the clone tool. Sample the white area and clone over the type. The shadows will cause you a little more work.

Here's quicky. Use a soft brush and then maybe go back and use the blur tool.

Don't use the splatter tool while cloning. That's why it looks so patchy.

the cloning tools should work the best. just zoom in real close and clone out all that junk. you might have to take the "aligned" setting off for a few parts.

Here's my try. I used the patch tool, then the clone stamp.(I usually keep aligned off) Then I sampled a few of the colors off the sign and used the brush at 13% to smooth it out. Those shadows made it alot harder.

Getting the new text to look real will be a challenge, let us see your final results!

Put that text on it's own layer, emboss it, then use the lighting effect filter to throw the light down on it to match the picture.

You could also do something to match up the shadows cast by the tree above if you wanna go all out.

Thanks guys. That helps a lot. I realize the shadows are going to be a problem. I'm not too worried with the text looking "authentic".

remember the text isn't true black....use your eyedropper to get the correct color.Upload
