Great, thanks so much for the information.
It looks like the single fin, yellow Skurfer is what I am looking for.

Here is a picture of my first Wakeboard. I bought it in 1991. It's still in great condition and it hangs on the wall at my river house.Upload

I purchaced my skurfer in 1986 from Tony Finn at the Boat Show at the Cow Palace. I think my parents still have it in the garage rafters. Is it worth anything??

I thought the first ones were called skurfers like Greg said?

Ok, so yes it seems like the Skurfer was the first. I have found a number of yellow Skurfers with foot straps on ebay and craigslist. I was wondering if there is an ever earlier Skurfer with no foot straps?
Thanks

Red Line produced a board about the same time as Skurfer did. They were called skiboards.
I am looking for an original Skurfer (without straps) and a Red Line skiboard if anyone has one.

I remember skurfing when it first came out in mid to late 80's maybe early 90's?

I also remember just previous to the Skurfer, some people were selling knee boards, that the padding was removeable, and these little fins dropped out of the bottom of it. Then you could kinda surf on it? I think that was even before the skurfer? Not sure if it's what your looking for or not.

Incidentally, anyone know where the skurfer originated from?

RD
