One of the best options on my boat. Not one complaint.

It is pricey though.

When you fold down the tower, is it out of the way? I know it tilts to the rear, but can it tilt forward so that when you fold the tower down it will not be pointing up?

You do need to take the Z5 off to take the tower down. LOve the Z5,we will have 4,5,6, boards on it sometimes plus other gear.Upload

I have had one since they first came out. I would not have a boat without you. I constantly have boards, skates, surfers, etc. I highly recommend it.

Depending on your garage height you don't need to take it off to fold the tower down. Like you mentioned in your question you can simply undo the front or rear legs of the z5 and it will still fold and point up or down, but it does sit a higher than your tower legs if you are looking for clearance... if you need the clearance you need to take it off like john illustrated

I would likely have to take it off each time, but it should not be a problem. I can get the boat in there, but not if it is sitting higher than the tower legs.

Even if you leave just the front of the z5 cargo rack attached, it still will be about 9' tall or so. I was hoping for it to be under 8' but it's not even close. Thanks for the pics John, that's how I'll be doing it.

I have it on my 06 24SSV Gravity Games boat. It is great. It holds a ton of gear when needed, provides good shade, and is easy to use. When I tow the boat to the lake (+70mph) it holds up very well. I don't see any stretching of the material and never any problems with the mounts.

I did a search online and could not find a z5 cargo rack. Where do they sell them?

mainly through a skiers choice dealer, but I know MC is starting to dabble in them and malibu did for a bit... Supra has really been the ones making them popular... i bet you see the other manufacturers doing it next year...

So does the bimini have to be up all the time? If not is it a pain to take down?

You have to get them directly from the dealer. I have had one on my MC for the past 4 years and love it. But, they do also make them for Skier's Choice and CC.

And, yes, it is either up or off. It is really easy to take off, especially if you have 2 people. But, the only time mine comes off is when I get a new boat. I'm a big fan of shade!
