jumping wake

What is the proper way to jump the wake. What angle should I be to the wake. People say to edge all the way into the wake but when I do that I carve and end up aboout at a 90 degree angle to the wake and when I land then the boad pulls me over and I fall.

cut in at a 45 degree angle, edge all the way through the wake and push the handle down when your in the air
