I started my nephew out riding last season. He is on a Murray Temet 138. He was getting down hs and some ts wake to wakes. Some grabs and also working on hs 180's. Looks like the board is a little big for him. He is 12 and maybe 80lbs. I was thinking of maybe a 130 or 128 size. He seems to progress fast. Any of you with smaller kids that can kill it what size boards do they ride. I don't care about him out growing it in a year cause uncle Squid will just buy him a new one.

Best part of all is being able to pass the stoke off to a kid. Heck we are already fighting over first pull and the butter runs.

I am 90 lbs and I ride a 131, I would suggest for him something around that 128-131 range... If he's doing that good in a board that big for him, maybe get him 130 or more so he will still have soft landings.

stefanie, i think the smallest boards being made right now are the 2007 liquid force nemesis 111 and the 2007 liquid force star 111.

i weigh 90 pounds and i ride a 119 cwb. its all about preference I guess, but I am going to get a new board soon because the cwb is my brothers. I couldn't see riding a 128 though, it just seems huge

CWB makes a great kids board in a 119cm called the Charger.

I bought my son a Liquid Force Nemesis 118. At the time it was the smallest I could find, locally anyway.
Board More/Work Less!

Matt, you should try a 128. i started out on a 125 and it seemed good for me because it was small and easy to move around, but when i tried a 132 I felt much better, the landings were softer and the board didnt seem as big as you would think. i ended up changing to a 131, and I have really progressed on that board.

My 8yr old has been on the 119 for the past 2-3yrs, and this year I got him the 109 HL Motive and it's been the best one yet. Good up to 110lbs, and smallest one on the market.

Stef, My 7yr old started riding this summer on the HyperLite Motive 109. Should also work well for the 4yr old next year.

BTW we share the same last name. Not many of us Hauer's around!
