I haven't really been into wakesurfing and don't know much about the boards and what not. I do remember that certain boards work better for smaller wakes. Which I would think the 205V hull has. I run the 600lb Fly Highs in the rear, heard that works for surfing pretty well as well.

WAs wondering what you all recommend for a 6ft 185lb guy who snowboards at a top level, wakeboards at an intermediate level (4 inverts Tant, Backroll, TS backroll, Switch Roll to Revert), and is very athletic. I have surfed no problem on buddies boards..... think they had a landlock, but that was behind a Centurion. Also will be used by my wife who is 5'6" 125-130.

Saw a Red Loogy in the Classifieds I was considering

After blowing up my knee(terrible triad) last year think I may need some days to just have fun and kick back. Got the FAE exhaust OTW as well.
Thanks

Roy should post up he has an X2/205.

I'm not sure what his current ballast set up is but I know he stepped it up this year.

The IS Red should be more than enough board but if your going with IS I'd consider going with the Blue. That should be enough board for your size and that wake. The Blue will be more maneuverable too.

I rode a Land lock once. For me it didn't have enough rocker in the nose. I kept pearling, but I weight 220. The Hyper Light Broadcast 5.6 might be OK for that wake but I'd recommended the Blue as a faster better board.

If you want a more aggressive board you might look at the Shred Stick Ja Mako. Roy should be able to comment on the SS Ja Mako – His daughter won it at the 2007 Wakefest in Ohio.

That hull is a pretty good all around hull. We have the 2005 x2 mentioned above. We weight ours a little more than you do though, roughly 1500 pounds. (750 fatsac rear locker, 370 fatsac under bench seat, center ballast, and 100 pounds in the bow). Which side are you going to be riding? The port side has more play in the speed than starboard.
Here is a link about weighting this hull.. http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87668/470540.html?1189205838

We've ridden a wide range of boards on our wake, from a 32'' Surf Skate to a 4'11 Shred Stixx Ja Mako. The wake doesn't matter as much as the board does. What do you want it to do for you? Just ride, get air, spin?

Swatguy, I have a 2005 X2 and I wouldn't describe the wake as small. We put a 750 fatsac in the back locker. A 390 lbs sac under the port side seat and about 200lbs in the bow. Any board will work for you on this hull but I think you might need to look at a board for you and a different board for your wife. The IS blue will work for both of you but I'm guessing that you are fairly competitive. You will probably be yearning for something more than the IS Blue. I'm around your size and I love the Shred Stix Ja Mako but I don't think it would be a great board for your wife. Once you start surfing, you'll never be satisfied with one board. I currently have a Hyperlite 4'9" Broadcast (great beginner board), Trick Boardz Wakeskate (small board), Walzer (nice hybrid board), Shred Stix JaMaKo (great surf style board) and my daughter will soon be getting a Calibrated Bri Chmel Pro model. If you are looking for a skim style board, Calibrated makes a great board. There are a lot of good boards available and your boat will not create any problem with any board you chose.

This is me sufing my buddies 02 Xstar. I think he's running around 450+ rear and 350 center. He was draining the center as I was sufing so the wake just getting steeper!

Thanks guys.
As far as the small wake comment. I am coming from being a long time Centurion owner (Hurricane, Avy, Lightning C4, and Avalanche) so am kind of spoiled with surf wakes though I never really got into surfing yet til now.

WAs looking for a decent board. Wife won't surf that much maybe 25% of the time on the board will go to her(being generous probably less). I am looking for now to just slash the wake and pump, maybe start some spin tricks at the lip if I get into it. I am thinking of swapping out the rear bags and putting 750's back there. I will just have to reinforce the dividers so they don't melt on the manifolds.

SO I have a hookup on LF stuff would you recommend one of their boards? or am I better off somewhere else?
