The wife agrees that we should do one of these. For now cant afford both. Do you get tower speakers and an amp, or do you install PerfectPass??? Thanks!

PP can save a marriage.
It is also huge for driver comfort, driving safely, and a great pull.

I have both & I would do Perfect Pass first for sure. A consistant drive is no1 most important thing, tunes are cool but bad speed control is too frustrating to even bother riding.

Perfect pass hands down!!

perfect pass all the way. Speakers are nice to have to pump you up, but riding at inconsistent speeds really sucks. Going in for a raley and all of a sudden the line goes slack...ouch. Buy the perfect pass. Ours came with the boat but we didnt use it the first year because my dad was stubborn and couldnt handle the technology. After teaching him how easy it was, he swears he will never buy a boat without it.

Not even a comparison. If you don't have PP, get it & forget the speakers.

Wow, I have never used PP before but I am stunned that 15 responders all went with PP. It looks as though we will go with it. Keep the comments coming though.

If you've never used PP, it's understandable that you wouldn't know what a great thing it is, but I would never have a boat without it again.

Advantages:
*It makes a bad driver a good one (as long as they can drive a straight line) with a steady, strong pull. I had a skier (*gasp*) behind my boat the other day that had never skied behind a boat with PP. He couldn't believe how good the pull was.
*The driver is able to concentrate on other things than holding a steady speed, namely other boats & objects that might be in the water. It's much less work to drive a boat with PP for this reason alone, & makes it much more enjoyable for anyone to drive the boat.

Disadvantages:
*Cost, but even at that it's worth it.

Perfect Pass all the way. Tower speakers are obnoxious, I can't stand the stupid things.

Make that 16! Perfect Pass has to be one of the best improvements wakeboarding has seen. Buy the Perfect Pass, you won't regret it at all.

Dave the first thing you do when you go out on the lake with perfect pass is ask yourself why did I not do this sooner. The pull you get with perfect pass is just unmatched.

So the next set of Q's...

who has the best prices?

Which model if strictly boarding?

how hard to install yourself? (obviously this may vary from boat to boat, but in general)

Perfect Pass. Dane hit the nail on the head - It'll make your marriage better when you get out of the water and say "great pull" instead of "why the @!#$%#$@# can't you stay the same speed?"

Part of the fun of wakeboarding is watching others ride - it's nice to not have to keep your eye on the spedometer the whole time.

After a while, you'll realize that even .25 MPH changes will change the width and way you hit the wake. It's great to know where the other side is going to be...every time.

Perfect Pass 1st, without a doubt. As far as which, I bought the Digital Pro, installed by the dealer for $1,200. I only use it in wakeboard mode. I have heard the wakeboard version is about $200 less.

willy,
These guys have about the best pricing online, but you may be able to work a deal with your dealer to include installation as WakeShoe talks about.

PP 1st speakers/amp later

I have PP, and don't have tower speakers.

I would not get another boat w/o PP, ever!

The speakers can be added latter, but the PP is best from day 1.

The second thing to do is set all the values so you get a great pull. Once you get the values dialed in, the pull will be unbelievable.

If it was not for the PP, my wife would not pull me, and I would always be looking for a driver.

The best marriage saver on the water, PP.

No question, PP would be (and was) my first priority.

Perfect Pass for two reasons:

First: It makes both being pulled and driving better. I dial in TAPS and Perfect Pass and ballast how I like it before I get in and as long as they dont hit someting, drive straight and dont run me over I get a great run in. The almighty wife can than becomes a favorite (and most handy )driver.

Second: When pulling wimpy tubes or other "kid attractive" anchors it makes driving a lot easier on me. It's really great if there are a lot of people (distractions) in the boat.
