Man im depressed...Last summer i lived right on a lake with a crew that rode everyday on a 2001 SAN loaded down that threw one of the sickest wakes i have ever rode on. This summer all my crew either moved away or are getting out of the sport...(i know, its rediculous)... so i have been left with a 1997 Mastercraft prostar 190 with fat sacs and a pylon... I was wondering if anyone has thrown down behind this type of setup and if so how did you weight it down?? Thanks to all who support my addiction....

You complaining, come on man. There are tons of people out there who are riding on much worse than that who would give anything to get a new boat. Yeah, it is nice to go behind a boat tricked out and throwing a sunami for a wake, but shoot man, the '97 prostar isn't all that bad. Throw a 600 pound fattie in the back with a 200 pound in the front and you should be fine. It won't be the 2001 SAN but it will work.

Oh my god. Go ride that prostar and get over it! It throws a worthy wake with a thousand pounds in it. Be glad you have a boat at all.

Can you throw down behind it? Go watch Retrospect.

Seriously... Retrospect will set anyone straight. We are soo spoiled these days. Guys in the 90's were throwing down as big or bigger than guys now. It's amazing what line tension can do.

Anyway, slam that prostar to the rub rail and go ride. It'll be just fine.

ya that boat is fine. I learned most of my inverts and a raily with no pole or sacks on a 78 mastercraft. So do what Evan said and slam that prostar.

Honestly man, add 1000lbs to any inboard boat and you are gonna get a decent wake. I have a malibu response lx, a little bigger than a 190, but it has no internal ballast and takes a lot to sink. If you are worried about your wake, learn to wakeskate because you dont need a wake to become a pro wakeskater.

yeah i figured id get a response like this on old ww. im not really depressed i thought id just post a little drama to get things stirred up.my main reason for posting on here was to see how much weight the newer mastercrafts need to throw a decent wake...back in the day we rode on a stars and stripes with a fatseat in the back two 350 sacks on the sides of the engine compartment and a 350 in the front... and no i dont live on the lake anymore... our crew got evicted (sp?) for taking midnight sessions on the lake....sorry for all the drama next time ill make sure not to upset everyone......later

I "throwdown" behind an 84 Cobalt with 700 lbs of lead in it. And when I say "throwdown" I mean THROWDOWN. Im sorry you buddies moved away but I have no sympathy for your 97 MC. Just get out there and feed the addiction.

I learned on an 97 prostar with tons of ballast and i loved it. It had a monster abrupt wake that launched you. Don't complain, many many people would be jealous.

In my 96 PS 190 I run a 650 across the back, 550 on each side of the engine and 200lbs of lead in the nose. Plus people....2-5. About as good of wake as your going to get out of a 190, and not sink it.
Another good setup is 600 in the back and 600 in the nose....btu it's easy to swamp the nose.

You can beat a Boston Whaler but I bet you can't sink one! Those things are amazing.

Depression is having ACL replacement this spring and not being able to ride till September. Try driving by the lake evey day when its butter, and not being able to do anything. That is depression!

Now, you want some real depression? This weekend I got a DUI and last night me and my girlfriend of almost 2 years broke up...I am actually pretty depressed, but I take life as it comes and always find something fun out of it so I don't sit around and sulk. To the LAKE!!!!!
