This is for my truck. ... Tow vehicle

I have a 4 channel amp (4X100). (It's old, That's just what is says on the amp. .. don't know what reference these numbers are associated with) I blew a rear speaker, so decided to upgrade all speakers. The front speaker holes are 6.75" and the rear are 4X6's. I have found some Infinity speakers I like. The ones that will fit the rear are 2OHM, and the front are 4. Will my AMP complain about the different loads?

Thank you, and sorry for the long read.

Robb

You need to make sure your amp can handle a 2 ohm load. If it can, it should not matter that you are running different loads. Running an amp at 2 ohms that is not designed for it will destroy the amp.

yeh find out your amp load and then wire your speakers accordingly

Robb-the 4X100 most likely indicates a 4 channel amp rated @ 100 watts per channel. Like the others suggested find out the brand and model of your equipment and look it up to see what its designed to handle.

Robb, it should have a protection mode built in, run it like you think it should be run, keep an eye on it, if it gets scorching hot it would shut down and you'll know it can't handle it, if not use it.

Jay, you googled "amp" yet? It's crazy. besides, that didn't answer my question. It says they can run in 2 or 4 ohm mode, but doesn't say whether or not you can do it at the same time.

Adam, thanks. That's what I wanted to know.
