"not a fan of tower speakers. too many bumped heads"

Do you know how much effort it takes to bump your head on the tower speakers in the stock mounting locations on an illusion tower, your head has no business over there anyways.

Looks great! Did Scott give you the low down on the Q-Tune on the GT-28?

Ben, I didn't get the low down on the Q-Tune for the GT-28. What is it?

Nice!

Stewart - Q-tune will allow you to gain even more midbass from your Hollow Points. It creates a little bump in front of the crossed over frequency to give a adjustable bass boost at the lower end. Try with it set at .9-1.1 and go from there. You will notice a big difference. Make sure to not over do it if you are crossed over really low. Let me know how that works for you.

Thanks Ben.

How does that feature work with an EQ. I have an Eclipse 2010 right now. Or, does this allow me to get rid of the EQ?

BTW, I am using a new Sony head unit that is iPod ready.

It works well with any EQ. That EQ is a good one so hang on to it. The 2101 is exactly the same as the current model EQ1000 and that hasn't changed in +8 years. Q-Tune will effect just midbass on the tower so your eq will still help clean everything else up, give you sub level control, fade from tower to interior and master volume control. The only other thing you should look into is the Revolution from HSE. Happy tuning.

Stewart- I am glad the amp worked out well for you. Ben is right on the money with Q-Tune. I just did a boat last week with a GT28 on the tower and it was amazing what the Q-Tune did for the mid bass. Hey, I have one more GT28 if you'd like it?

Cheers
Scott

By the way....I also love the boat. Great color combo and the Chrome 770's really pop off the tower.

Ben and Scott,

Thanks for the info. I will have to try that when I have a chance.

I don't think I will need another GT-28, but I may need a GT-24 if I add a 3rd pair. :-)

Scott,

I did some tuning on the Q-Tune yesterday. It did seem to make a difference. I was doing the tuning myself, and was almost deaf by the end of it :-)

Let me know if your ever in the area. I'ld love to find out what you think and see if I got the tuning right.

Our boat is at B&W near Isleton and we are there most every Friday-Sunday.

Ben, thanks for your help as well!!!

Stewart - Glad you were able to get some results with the q-tune. I'm only about 20 min north on 5 from 12 if you want another opinion.

Stewart- I would be happy to meet up with you some time. Perhaps Ben and I could both spend some time on the boat. You should still have my number.....

Cheers
