Nice boat, that second to last picture must be Dorton's son, they look identical. (Except for the hair color)

Haha, nah, the second to last picture is me driving my buddy and Ben, they were doing doubles. Ben only rode doubles, and I couldn't take pictures for it. One of the kids on the boat tried to take pictures with my camera, but he couldn't figure it out, so I don't have any good ones. If I was his son, I definately wouldn't have the Air Nautiques sticker on my board ;) haha

I dig the inlaid teak on the platform! Nice boat! The wake looks pretty big for stock ballast, I wonder what another 1000lbs would make it look like?

finally we see the stock wake! it does indeed look very nice. looks pretty wide. how far back were you riding? is that really an X45, or Maristar trim? i also dig the graphics on that boat, but the new X-series schemes are growing on me too.

The maristar 245 w/ tower and ballast is the X-45. The way I understand it, he wanted it to be that way for one reason or another. Not sure what exactly we were riding at, either 75' or 80'. To be honest with you, I remember looking down at the ballast the center tank was only half full, so it may not even be full stock ballast. It was a sick wake though.

they probaably ordered the maristar with the options because the color scheme is really cool and they dont offer metal flake colors on the x-series because mastercraft wont put metal flake on the bottom of the boats

Those graphics with the huge MASTERCRAFT look sweet, alot better IMO than just a big X on the side.

I'm not exactly sure why they got the Maristar with all the X options and not just the X. I just know he could have got whatever he wanted and got what he wanted, lol. mplv, not sure what kind of engine it was. I asked Ben but he didn't know, I was driving at the time and meant to check once we got back but forgot. I'm not sure what they offer in it, but Ben said it was either the Escalade engine or a Corvette engine, he wasn't sure which. I also have to say, I LOVED the way this thing drove. I heard some people on here complaining about the way the boat rode, turned, and held speed but it was perfect for me. I'm in love with it.

It is not a salt water series, you would see the S.S. flush connection on the back of the transom. I think the only thing dif from a x-series is the gage background color, which i do like the dark blue over the red. Awsome looking boat. Wish i had the teak inlay swim deak too, it looks tons better then the rubber mat. Thanks mplv

You can order that MaserCraft decal from MasterCraft to put on the side of the boat. That is a MariStar 245 with tower and ballast.

whatever it is, it is exactly what the X-45 color scheme SHOULD look like. Sorry, but the grafiti stuff is lame. This boat looks really sharp, would love to see more pics.

I got invited back out on it today but had a final exam right in the middle of when they were going, haha. It's ok, we might go this weekend or something. My buddy went again, he took alot of pics, I'll grab one if he took one from the side. And yes, it's a really sweet dock as well, it's huge.

Alot of the riders are coming into town next week for a photoshoot, and this is probably going to be the photoshoot boat So, if you can wait till it comes out, you'll get a really good shot of it from the side then ;) Seriously though, I will try to get a side picture if we go out this weekend.

Glad you could come ride with Ben. Here's the deal on the 45. First, it's got the MCX engine which is ample for that boat. Second, it's a MariStar gel scheme with aftermarket graphics. We were going for a custom look. We got on build-a-boat to design it. Now that we're moving to the lake full time, Ben and I are getting to ride a lot more. He's been focused on MX and football. Now he's taking a session almost daily. Dad Dorton

Nice to see that the CEO of mastercraft is checking in on this forum. I like the idea that the Boat companies are listening to what we like and dislike about their boats. Very cool boat as said before.

We were fortunate enough to make it out today, we all had a good time again and the weather finally cleared up! We really appreciate you and your families generosity John, letting us use your boat so often. Got to meet Mrs. Dorton today and she's terrific, your lakehouse is looking better everytime I see it. By popular demand, a shot from the water of the side. (Message edited by loudontn on May 12, 2006)
