Justin Stephens Slow Mo

in some of justin stephens vids he has this incredibly sharp and clear slow mo that is going at like 2%. does anyone know how to do this, or how its done?

High fps (frames per second) cameras. They're expensive...

yeah he bought a camera that was designed by the military to see how a bullet shoots its a great buy if u got ten grand to spend

There's a bunch of footage of it on Pull. Pick up the box set and check it out. There's actually a bunch of footage of their Powell trip and some stuff on Letchworth, too.

I'm pretty sure it's more than $200/day because a typical Hig-Def camera like the Panasonic HVX or Sony FX1 will cost you $350-500/day.

I was under the impression that it was close to $1k/day to rent because it comes with a custom laptop to capture the footage. The video is such high resolution and with the massive amounts of frames being captured, he could only capture 4-5 seconds worth of footage at a time..

Maybe Justin will chime and set us all straight..?

Its about $800 to $1000 a day usually unless you got a hook up

Depending on the camera the lower the FPS the higher the quality. It also shoots in Tiff sequences, .avi compressed and .mov compressed.

This is what i have found and been told. I could be wrong but it looked like he shot at least 2000 FPS but id bet its 4000 FPS

Figured it out.

I was pretty off. The high speed stuff in the truth was at about 500 FPS and some where a 1000 FPS.

The rental is $1000 a day plus $500 every 10 hrs for the OP. But there are some places that are cheaper and dont need an OP.

but ya i figured i'll let yall know about that.
