Everyone I have ever talked to always recommends getting a brass prop ACME or OJ so when you do hit something the prop takes the damage and hopefully doesn't mess up the prop shaft or the 'arm' holding it. Stainless can be so strong that it won't give and can be more likely to throw off the shaft when hit. Call ACME props or OJ, tell them what boat and weight you run and they can have a prop to you very quick (overnight if you want to pay over $50 for shipping. Have fun on the houseboat!
