I would like to update the look of my tower speakers and make them look new again. They are metal Titain cans with what I believe is aluminum brackets. Right now they are black, but I am planning on painting them white. What all needs to be done as far as paint prep? I now good prep work pays off in the end. I am guessing that I need to sand them down to rough up the surface and then clean them, then paint and clear coat. What grit should I use? What should I use to clean the surface, what kind of paint would be best? I have a can of RUST-OLEUM Gloss Protective Enamel and clear coat, would this work? Next the brackets. They are pitted up pretty good. I tried rubbing then down with some mag and aluminum polish but it didn't really help. I don't really know what to do here. I might try using the polish compound with a drimal attachment. Thank You!
