If it can be saved I say it would need to be professionally reworked...otherwise it would have some bad vibration if you could even get it back into "position".

damn, you need some fiberglass work too

in terms of the rudder, the might be able to bend it back at a machine shop, but unless you are adept at using a brake, as well as reworking busted metal, it would probably be cheaper to just get a new one


just curious, did it miss the prop?

what did you hit?

If your prop looks anything like that rudder, you could be looking at some trany problems as well. Good luck, hope it isn't as bad as it looks.

If I was in the middle of a Lake Powell vacation I would certainly try bending the rudder back enough to finish the trip.

I certainly wouldn't try it otherwise. You may bend it back, but it will never be as strong and I doubt you could get it straight.
