Anyone know what brand of pump MC was using in 2000 for automatic ballast in the X-Star? Or, more importantly, what GPH are they running? I looked all over our pumps and couldn't find any labels or lettering. Thanks guys.

Jeff,

Check the profile.......Have that same boat. From factory they used Mayfair cartridge pumps. Mine are all 1000 gph. I swapped out the 2 rear ones and puit 1250gph back there. You can find the 1250 replacement cartridge and it will fit into the old 1000 housing. Not sure if you blew one or not, but you can just find the replacement motor cartrdige (the black insert) much cheaper than buying a whole new pump. Like I said decided to go with the 1250 instead when I had to replace one. I fill 500lb sacs now instead of the hard tanks....prob only saves me a minute or 2 but hey I will take what I can get to get riding quicker

I talked to mayfair and the 1000 and 1250 are the same motor. The 1250 housing is 1" output not 3/4" like the 1000 and that is where they get the higher GPH from, not a bigger motor. Save the money and buy 1000 GPH motors if you have the 3/4" fitted housing.

HA That is funny...Who I talked to over there said it would get more output HAHAHAHAHAH Just goes to show ya.

Oh well. I did do a test though side by side with same sac with the 1250 Vs. 1000. the 1250 did fill up faster though not by much. That explains alot. Thought it would have been faster than what it was, but like I said it did fill it a bit faster so not sure why then

Swat, Thanks I try to take care of it. Its a 2000, with the wrap around seating. Got a pair of tyrants on the top now too :-). But I dont have a swim platform upgrade, but I'd like to throw the 07 swim platform on her. Mine is feeling a little weak.

Looks like you do from the brackets. I highly recommend it. Kepps the platform at waterline when fully weighted rather than calf high. My bad....Still looks clean tho :-)
