I remember watching that episode. They were afraid the stereo (pressure) was going to crack the fiberglass!

That boat belongs to the owner of Arc Audio. He lives here in modesto. All his toys are extreme like that. I'll have to ask why he is selling next time I see him.

There's not a single thing about that boat says "necessity" to me.

$200 grand? I think not. It may have shed loads of gear in it but I'd never spend $200k on a 'size compensation' boat like that. Come to think of it I wouldn't spend any money on a boat like that. Think what you could get for $200k - decent wake boat, a decent ride to haul it and about 3 month's worth of houseboat rental at Powell!

Is that the boat that wouldn't plane out because the stereo equipment was too heavy??

That is so awesome. As for necessity, does it really matter? Just like most people definitely don't need the big wakes their boat can produce. (I'm not trying to personally attack, just reacting :-) )

Does anyone have more pics of that boat?

That boat is at Mike's Roadhouse in Modesto all the time. Its a pretty clean boat but 200 g's worth I am not really sure.

To everyone that dosent know. This is a display boat for ARC AUDIO. They built it to show off all there equipment. I wish more companys that have a marine market would make a display toy somthing like this.

Grant, Why have we not seen a Sound Illusions project lately?? I really like your projects but it seems like it has been a while since we have seen anything.

I set my boat up with 74 speakers and it was way too quiet. I think 80 is definitely the way to go! :-)

no pun intended people, but this is a Show Boat!!!

It's not really intended for everyday use and abuse! These cars/boats/rigs never are. Anyone seen the Alpine cars...SUPER SUPER SUPER COOL, and SUPER expensive, but not intended for regular use!

200K, not a bad deal it you ask me. Doesn't it have twin 454's blown and tweaked, beefed up outdrives and probably 30K in equipment (at cost) and another 50-60k in custom installation. The remaining 110-120k is the boat! Right on par for the cost.

and yes I'll bet she screams!

Jon: Sorry I have been busy enjoying our new lake house and not working on any new stereo project's,

KG: I guess you and me are the only ones that got that it was for display, LOL

BK: I saw your parents spending your graduation money this weekend out on the lake, they said you were at school. They are nice people tell them we said hi.

that is cool, if you dont want it to plane. i heard it couldn't get up because of all the weight

It can't get up on plane- real or myth?

I would imagine it would have enough power to plane, and then again that is a lot of stereo...
