Hey whats up, I posted a thread about a week ago about my problems with my 2002 20v. Tige saw it and are being awsome with helping out. Now I have another problem. my wake. Im looking for the biggest best wake i can get on the boat. I wont settle for less than somethign close to a pro sized wake. It just dosent seem right to not taking advantage of the wake the boat is possible of creating. I know a lot of people say put more weight forward and ive tried that but whats too much, today i had two sacs up there and it just took up a lot of room. anyway what are your suggestions and setups (rope length speed etc) right now im at 70' at anywhere from 23 to even 26-27mph with about 5 different bags to choose from. If I were you I would put either lead or small sacks (side sacks from fly high) in the front bow storage, a 500 in the bow walkway, some lead in the storage in front of the driver and the passenger, and then a 500 on each side of the engine. I know this gives a killer wake on the 22v, but I don't much about the 20v.

Hi Ryan, I rode behind a Tige 20V a few weeks ago. We put 2000# of lead in it. I think it was something like 700-800 in the bow, 400 in front of the back seat and the rest in the back compartment. With 5 people the wake was really, really big and clean. Taps was at about 5, we could go higher, but it would tend to wash out a bit, but not bad. I rode at 24mph, 65' line and was clearing the wake nicely. To compare, behind my Supra I usually ride 70'-75' (not including handle on these lenghts) and 23mph. Hope that helps. Keep messing with it. Once you get it down, its worth it. I've had a 20i for almost 3 years now and just found my perfect wake yesterday. I keep 200 lbs of sand in the boat spreadout, then I put a 750lb sack in the walkway and the 350lb side sacks on either side of the engine. With 4 people in the boat the wake was over knee high and I am six foot. Taps was kept on zero, and the wake was thick and steep with just enough transition to buck you up and out at 25 mph and 80 ft. Now that I ve run out of room, I am going to start sacking on top of other sacks...well maybe not. Later, Brad

I will when i get it, a couple days ago we had 2x600lb bags in the back compartments, 1x580lb bag in the walkway and 2x240lb bags on top of that up front, with taps at 5 and about 4 or 5 people it was pretty sweet. Landed a couple tricks for the first time so i was pleased with it.

Some boats you can get the "pro styled" wake pretty much no matter what you do as long as it id dipersed evenly from side to side.

Haha, that was close. I didn't mean anything bad. I don't know the 20V and I really meant just to add a whole lot of weight and keep it evenly dispersed side-to-side.

What is the Verdict on the concave hulls with Tiges? This is a NEW hull feature for this year, yet I have not heard from many about the new wake. How does the wake compare on the 2002 20V without the concave hull the 2003 20V?

Greatdane, The older hulls are considered "concave". The newer Tige hulls are considered "convex". I believe the 2002 20V was the first Tige to incorporate the convex shape. So the 2002 and 2003 should share the same hull. Reviews on the new hull have been very good in comparision to the older concave design (i.e. 21V)

Here is a pic of a 2003 22V. It is clean and symmetrical to 85 to 90 feet. This pic had about 2000 pounds in the boat. The new hull is extremely nice!

In that pic our 22V had the three front ballast bags full (Rival ballast - roughly 600-700 pounds in front), another 100 in lead in the front, 200 in lead in the middle, and eight people in the middle seating area. I didn't even fill the rear ballast and the wake was nuts. I was camping with three buddies, two have Super Airs, the third has a Malibu VLX. It was their feeling that the wake is very similar to the Super Air fully weighted, but with a longer transition. They all absouluetly loved the wake. It's very hard and gives great pop up and out. We had so much fun behind this wake, we never even rode behind the Super Air that day. When I go out with only a couple of people I fill the two 540# sacks in the back as well. The Rival Ballast definately makes it nice - I'll never fill sacks again. Terry Barrett, the Tige' dealer in Arizona, and his partner make the ballast.

Mike, I know they raised the free board considerably but with that much weight up front has it stayed dry? and how is that Transom, has it been a major adjustment because of the slope or not to bad?

Yes, in fact I've never taken a wave over the bow, and I couldn't say that with my old 2000 21V....maybe I'm just better at driving now. :-) Check out my profile pic. That pic is of the weight setup I described from last weekend and as you can see the nose rides up pretty high still.
