I would like some real life experience rather than the a manufacture rep telling me what I should get. I am running around 1800 lbs of water / lead. My hole shot with the stock prop is not good at all. What is working for you guys?

Acme = 515 or 525

O.J. = 334,330, or 328

What engine, and do you know what prop are you running now?

I have an ACME 653 on my V215 and routinely run over 2400lbs. It was a huge upgrade over the stock as far as hole shot goes but I lost about 4 or 5 MPH's on the top end but who cares about that.

I run a 525 with similar weight to you plus 5-7 people with the 350mag motor. Prop is great, the boat would sink before not planing up.

JTW,
What are you looking for better holeshots? top end? or midrange?
Tournament boats are tuggers not speed demons, throw an ACME #1433 or #1235 and you would be able to pull an ocean liner or better yet you could pull 10 skiers at one time, both of these props have great Holeshot and you only lose approx. 2 to 4 MPH on the top.

i run my stock prop with 2500 pounds every time we ride. Its got plenty of holeshot for me. Were on plane in about 30 yards. I have the black scorp though.

You cannot use the 1433 or 1235 on the V210, these props are for gear reduction tranny's with 1&1/4" shafts, of which the V210 has neither.

Wow, 2500 in the V210, the wake must be slamming and it would be a handful to drive. Where abouts are you putting all that weight?

Darren is correct, do not put a 1235 or 1433 on a V-210 (it probably won't even fit) those props are 14 1/4 in. dia. and for gear reduction trannys.

Nick ~ 2500# in a V-210? Stock prop?
pictures??

i dont have any pics of the boat sitting like in the water but this is how i do it. 2 450's in the back hatches. a 350 on the floor in the back. The stock kgb which i think is 350. another 550 in the bow. I also have 4 bags of lead about 100 lbs each two in the nose and one in the side seat compartment and one in the cooler i dont use. The wake is mackin.rampy with a fat lip at the top. It actually handles really well. Most people are surprised. My boy runs about 3550 in thier x-1 and his was super surprised how well it did. I have the acme 3 balde stock. It get up and on plane no prob. The water is about 4 inches below the rub rails.

Acme 653 or 911 three blade will give you the best results.

You are running a bit more back bias than me, I run as much in the front as possible without taking water in and get the back platform about 1-2" under. Love the wake, perfect shape for me & nice and chunky.

I sell more 911's than 653's for your application.

Whats the diff between the 911 & the 525 Karl?

i have the same color scheme. Its sweet! I think my platform is about 4-6 inches under. Its a little more than ankle deep.

The pitch is different - about 150 rpms. It moves the torque curve to where you ride. The sacrifice is top end.

How fast and what length rope do you guys ride Nick? I think if I rode with the platform that dumped I would be punching the lip every hit. Yeah I love the colours too, I have dreamed about upgrading but when I wake up I realise this boat is hard to beat and its paid for.

Thanks Karl.

i doubt you would punch thru, its as solid as a rock. I'm not that great of a rider i only ride at about 22.5 at 70 ft now. I got a narly concussion that put me out for months. i used to ride at 23.5 at 75 ft. i have had riders behind it as long as 90ft and 28 mph and they loved the wake. The weight in the front and middle keeps it from being to steep

Karl would you get better gas consumption with a diferant prop than stock if you run with weight?

I went with the 653 but I don't run as much weight. The guys at Acme say the 653 will take you up to about 1800lbs. in a V210 with Black Scorp. Running heavier than that, they recommend the 911.

Yes, whenever you optimize the torque curve for the load you get better fuel mileage versus over revving or lugging.

Looking for more hole shot with my 350 mag. Looks like the 525 might be the one.

If your running the 515 now, you will hardly notice a difference going to the 525. You should be looking at at least the 653 with the weight you're running, if not the 911 even.

i had to have mine cleaned up some and im a little unsure how to put it back on regarding the key
Old     (bftskir)      Join Date: Jan 2004       08-07-2008, 7:50 PM Reply
put the key in the slot in the shaft and then slide on the prop with the slots lined up.
Old     (wake_upppp)      Join Date: Nov 2003       08-07-2008, 7:52 PM Reply
Nick, slip it on without the key, put a mark with a pen or tape where the front of the prop hub is on the shaft. Now install the key and make sure the prop returns to the same mark, if not, try reinstalling the key or file/sand just enough off so your prop returns to your mark with the key installed.

Thanks Sparky. I will look at both. I wish I could buy all of them and try them out but will probably go with the 653 to be safe.

I run the 911 with my malibu response lx with monsoon 325 in it. everytime we ride there is right at 2500 lbs of water/lead and usually 2-3 people in the boat. I also always have the wedge down when riding. that prop is a beast! it has no problems at all getting on a plane and pulls very consistant with the perfect pass (+/- .2 mph from the set speed). I lost maybe 4-5 off top end but could care less. with that weight I also frequently pull 2 riders and it doesn't effect it a bit! not the same boat as yours, but that prop kicks ass!
