Advice please...
Stats..

36 yrs old
5'10"
175 lbs
advanced slalom skier but intermediate wakeboarder
Looking to upgrade to a better board. I learned on a hyperlite fluid 137 with cheap bindings. Rode a buddies '05 cwb absolute and thought it was a lot easier to ride. I'm not looking to break the bank because I'm sure I'll want to upgrade again next year. I found a store that is trying to unload last years models and they have a 2006 liquid force omega 139 with alpha bindings. $200 for the package. Even though it is really cheap, is the board anything close to the absolute?
Thanks in advance

I would say no. Although that is a killer deal for board and bindings it doesn't compare to the absolute in my opinion.

The Omega doesn't ride like an Absolute, so in that sense it does not compare, but it is an extreamly good board from beginner to pro... just ask Ben Greenwood (Liquid Force pro rider who's pro board is the Omega). Alphas are good bindings in the intermediate range. I would put them there because they fit a wide range of feet where as a more advanced binding feets fewer feet shapes.

Yea, The binding explination I had was correct but I did a horrible job of wording it.. Someone make that more clear!

This might be a good idea if you like the way the absolute rode. How much do you weigh?

O sorry 175. You should probably get a board close to 140cm.

Aren't you kinda old for this? Man, you're almost ready for centrum silver.

Just kidding. I'm slightly heavier than you and I was told to get a 143. (got an '06 obrien player for $129 shipped)

I still try to go as hard as ever in all sports but at 36 the day after is brutal. That's why you just have to go hard every day, eat well, drink red wine and run 30 miles a week on the treadmill. A guy on this site is selling an '05 parks w/parks bindings, is this a good board for me?
Thanks
