Are you suppose to have bass blockers in your tower speakers? I am just curious to see who is wanting bass come through there tower speakers.

I have a set of kicker dual voice coil 6.5 tower speakers and were thinking about installing bass blockers any thoughts?

Bass blockers aka capacitors are not a bad idea on tower speakers. A better idea is to enable your amplifier's high pass crossover tuned to about 150hz. The speaker's are not going to produce much down there anyway so you might as well save that power (heat) and use it where it's more audible.

The only reason you should need them is if the amp does not have a crossover.

electronic crossover would be much better (more efficent and you can experiment)..most amps have this built in..

for 6.5's 150hz is a good place to crossover..

Otherwise if you have a kenwood excelon deck, the crossover is built into that. If no dice on either, get some bass blockers.
