Wow good picks this year. I think the riders that were all picked this year deserved to be on the list for sure.

I just don't get the boat of the year award. I just don't see the greatness that people claim, but thats just my opinion. Same with the wakesurf board of the year. I just think that those results must be from mass production and lack of knowledge of whats out there.

for every person that hates the x-star wake, you'll find five people (like me) that love it. not sure if i lack knowledge, but if i do, so be it

It has nothing to do with lack of knowledge. Four years running for the X-star. That has to mean something about that boat.

And yes great to see Benny G making the list. Just can't get enough of watching him ride.

I am curious what parks did in 2006 to land on that list, did he even strap on a board? I know he has been extremely influential in wakeboarding, but in 2006?

I can honestly say that I am not suprised by most of the voting. It seems very media related.

There's your lack of knowledge. It does exist. Many people pick the names they recognize.

amazed at closed toe being #2.
Not an innovation as it's been done before. Also, it is gay in wakeboarding.

Stoked to see Hinge Tech in first, Andrew in second, and DS2 in second, although I thought DS2 was by far the best vid.

i know he's a fore-father of wakeboarding and all, but i couldn't believe they gave him the opening. the guy gets on there and talks about how important style is and how tricks are for kids, blah, blah, blah, then goes out and blasts a bunch of four-foot airs doing nothing but on-axis, frontside, middle-of-the-board grabbed spins. that's west-coast style? i know it pains true west-coast riders to do a trick they don't think looks good (i was unaware you could see yourself while wakeboarding, so are they riding for the love of the sport, or for the people in the boat?), but i've never seen so many mute frontside 3's in my life. i've got friends with much more "style" than that who go bigger and spin further. when i first got the dvd, i was asking myself "i paid $30 for this?". luckily, derek cook's section--which should have been the opening--was next and rocked my world without ever spinning anything past 5 with monkey spins (that first ts bs 3 is unreal), glides, and crazy-sick poked, tweaked, boned, yanked grabs left and right. i understand why they had to put smith in as he's one of the first names that comes to mind when you think of the delta, but his own section? and the opening no less? the rest of the video was insane though

Don't blame me, I voted for Darin Shapiro. :-)

I have latley found myself riding just for style also (trying to add grabs, shiftys, and pokes) but it's only because I can't do my harder tricks anymore, not because I'm riding for myself!

West Coast Style is just another way to say "I can't compete." (JK- I can't either nor do I have style)

I'll send out the winner emails tonight. Sorry I'm so behind, but I was up until 5:00 this morning doing the results and it's been a rough day.

Usually somebody accuses me of biased results based on advertising dollars by now. You people are a little slow this year.

I wouldn't say it's about what Parks did, but more like what he does. Think about it after every surgery he has on his knee he still comes back at the top of the league. Not many people could do that. Although Shaun Murray also did the same.

not this year. by the way, it's riders choice for 2006, not a lifetime achievement award.

I agree with it being a 2006 and not a lifetime achievement award. What- No Scott in wakeboarding top 10 this year? He belongs in wakeskate so it is good to see him there. He will probably be there for the next ten year
