WAs wondering what your thoughts are on these 6.5 speakers. Have a buddy who wants to replace the stock Clarion cans (4) on his 2002 X-Star.

He was leaning towards the Polks as they are Marine Certified, but we both heard that the MB Quart speakers are a great as well. When he talked to Polk they recommended the DB's over the MMC's for the tower application. They said the MMC's wouldn't be worth upgrading to.

I had the Polk db's in my truck, found them too bright so I switched to MB Quarts. I have the Polk MMC's in my boat cabin. I put db675's on my buddies tower.

I agree with Polk and recommend the db's on the tower over both the MMC's and the MB's. You want bright on the tower.

The Bullet Hollow Points 650 are available in a retro fit kit. He can save a bunch from buying the complete package and have "Pro Audio" sound out of his stock cans.

It would be the speaker/hlcd on the right but use the MC cans. Shown with chrome grill but the black should be available very soon.

I am a fan of the Polks myself. I think being that MB Quart is overseas.... customer service may be an issue.
