Well I think I stated about 3 weeks ago how I was happy I didn't live on a lake or waterway that had junk floating around in it where carrying a spare prop was a must.

I guess I found a place on our river where carrying a spare prop, rudder, power wedge, drive shaft, and strut are required items to carry!

Kinda sux, but at least I have insurance to help cover it.

It's an island you're not supposed to get too close to. Basically a rock bar submerged about a foot under the water. I knew I wasn't supposed to be in the area, but thought I had another 100 yards before this kind of thing could happen. I was pulling a boarder at the time too. When I stopped, he was able to take his board off sitting down on the rocks. I never knew this ledge came out this far, but now I do. $1000 lesson to be learned. Dang it all...

Same thing happened to us except it was a sand bar. No damage.

I ride the mississippi in MN and it could happen here too. We get deadheads during floods, but the channel can be hard to find. Wish the spring high water levels would stay longer. Very sorry to hear about that. Were you able to drive home?

Wasn't able to "drive" home but it was able to idle in gear. Got a tow from another boat that knew what was going to happen when I turned and watched it happen. Just happened to be another Malibu :-)

Towed me about 1.5 miles.

Damn, I feel the pain well not as much. I was down on vacation and ran up on a sandbar not marked due to low water levels. My acme was trashed. There was a local there that fixed it like new though.
