A little help needed.

I have a 2004 Supra Launch Direct Drive 22'- Left handed prop w/ 1" shaft

I am finally dailing in a desent surf wave and I am thinking about switching the prop out to help out the wave. I have seen on several threads that the right prop can help shape the wave as well as increase the size. Is this true?

Also.... What would be the best prop for my set up? Info from ACME says that with a 1 to 1 transmission that I have, I will not be able to run the larger props that everyone is going to.
I was told that I should go to the 1609 model that is 13x11.5 with a .60 cup or the 913 model that is 13x10.5 with a .80 cup. Does this sound correct. I really want to go to a 4 blade larger prop but it seems like I won't be able to take full advantage of the bad boy props out there. Will it be worth it to me to switch? Does it make that much of a difference? I am not looking for power or speed. I just want the benifit of the Surf and wakeboarding advantages.

HELP PLEASE.......... ALL thoughts are apreciated.

Delta propeller is very knowledgeable. Give them a call. There is also a discount code on PlanetNautique.com you can use if you buy from Delta.

Your prop selection is based upon your physical arrangements under the hull, your engine, your hull, and your expectations. The prop will not change the wave. Changing the prop will let your engine develop the best torque for surfing use. This will be at the expense of top end performance. The Acme props you list are typical for your boat. A larger diameter prop will not fit and your engine could not turn it. Most V-drives are a 1.5:1 tranny, not a 1:1 DD, like yours.

How much weight are you running? What engine?

Contact Bill Weeks at Acme. He set me up with a great prop. I have a 2001 DD Supra Launch and run almost 3000# and all we do is wakeboard. We'll wakesurf once in a blue moon. Here is what he recommended to me after i gave him the specs and how we operate, "I am suggesting the Acme 913-13.00X10.50VL3B 1.00 .080 cup three blade nibral propeller... This should be the best propeller for adding all the balast that you are adding. "

Let me tell you, i can put 3000# in the boat with 4-5 people and still get out of the hole. Lots and lots of low end. We've stacked the surf side up with tons of weight, dropped her to 9.5 - 10 mph and get a killer surf. The 'ol girl never really struggles to get out of hole.

I'm sure OJ has good options as well. But i am bias after the results i've seen.

As well i might have lost some top end. it it wasnt much. I had a 4 blade stock 13x13 or some crap, and the top end was about 42mph, and i've clocked the new prop at 40mph. But who really gives a damn about top end, get an I/O if you're worried about it.

FYI Karl is right the prop aint going to chage the wake. the prop will allow you to change the weight, and distribution and still get up.

Weight that I am running is...

750 in pass through
350 under back bench
400 in rear locker across the back
650 in floor on surf side
400 in floor across the rear seat

so just under 3000# not counting people in boat.
