Malibu VLX Q's

I just finished reading the lates "Malibu VLX Q's" article for Wakeworld. I realize that Malibu is the official sponsor of Wakeworld but these "Malibu VLX Q's" articles are extremely lame. It looks like Malibu basically writes the article and hands it over to the Wakeworld Staff. Malibu's are great boats but those articles are about as transparent as an info-mercial. I can't wait until an actual (dare I say) biased wakeboarding/boat review column/magazine arrives that would actually give more insightful information than what can be found on the manufacturer's website.

i think dave writes the answers actually. from what i've read, most of the articles are about options, interior, color choices, etc. and not about the boat's performance. i've only seen a couple questions regarding the wake and/or handling of the boat. the rest is all opinions on the appeareance. besides, what do you expect dave to say? if malibu hooked me up like that, i'd be smiling way too big to point out any negatives in regards to the boat. an unbiased review on boats is wishful thinking. sure, you could find a committee of riders and boat enthusiasts who don't currently own a boat (and are thus unbiased) and who aren't affiliated with any publication to write a solid, informed review. but, should the review be decidedly negative, what magazine or website would buy the article? what good does a negative review serve for the magazine or its advertisers?

All I know is that i love my VLX. the wake, handling everything.

I'm loving our '06 VLX...LOVING IT. the answers to my questions came well after we bought it, but ... love it.

If someone gives you a boat for free, I would never expect an unbiased report. You'd need each dealer to give you one in order to have no opinion...or ride behind all of them, but own none! If you own one, or especially, get one for free, you're probably biased
