I'm sure you have all seen this question a million times, but I'd appreciate it if you'd answer once more...
We are looking for our first board. None of us have ever even tried to wake surf. We range from 100 pound kids to 200 pound middle aged dads, but only want to buy one board (at this point anyway).
Our boat is an 03 Centurion Cyclone (not sure if that matters in your recommendation).
We were looking at what I am guessing are the 'usual suspects': CWB Ride and The Broadcast.
Ease of use would be the priority, I would guess.
Thanks. We can't wait to see what the excitement is all about...

Chris, you're right this question has been asked almost a million times. The most frequent answer to this question is usually the Broadcast. I have a Broadcast and would highly recommend this board for what you described. BTW, the Broadcast is great for learning but once you start to master surfing, you'll probably want a different board.

Thanks Roy. I'm sorry to bring up a topic that has been beaten to death, but I couldn't find just what I was looking for in other threads (maybe I'm not looking hard enough).

It sounds like there are two camps.

#1: Skip the beginner board, because you will want a better board soon, so why waste the money on a beginner board for a small period of time.

#2: Get the beginner board, for the ease of use. Then keep it around for future newbies and guests.

I think I'm leaning toward #2 (and the Broadcast).

If I'm nuts, feel free to let me know.

I'm of the "quiver" mentality. The broadcast makes a great trainer. With the sport principally being in it's infancy, you'll continue to introduce folks to the fun over the years. Having the trainer board around will prove invaluable. I also find that just for fun, we'll dig an old board out of the shop to mess with it for giggles.

I'd concur with you Chris buy a good trainer and keep it around for newb's and guests.

Chris, I think option two would be the best option. A broadcast is a very durable board. I would even recommend starting out with a used Broadcast. There currently is a used Broadcast on ebay.

I agree with the broadcast as a good starter. It also fits many standard board racks. There are two sizes of Broadcast boards 4.8 and 5.6. You have a smaller boat and some larger riders, you might consider the larger of the two.
