Hello fellow surf rats. I am looking at buying a boat under 5k. I have a few choices. The main question is which boat produces a better wake, and is the hull designed better for a wake?

choices are: 1969 correct craft, 1972 ski natique, or 1976 master craft?

Ideas?

LoL None.I would go with mastercraft.400 in the back 400 on the side.just put it really far towards the board. And for surf board i would go with the longer ones like the red tide or landlock or somthing long like that.easier to keepup.

Jamie, those hulls were desigined for little or no wake, they are tournament ski boats. That's not to say you can't sack it out to get some wake, but IMO it's gonna be tough to get much of a surf wake out of one.

Not quite true Danny and Chris. I have an old 1989 Sunsetter and sac it out to 2000lbs and get a decent wake. You can find a picture of the wake on the attached link http://www.wakesiderides.com/rides/index.php?page=out&id=2245
