Just a random question, but why doesnt wakeworld have a search function on the home page? I think it could help a lot of people out if you need to find a video or picture that isnt in a thread. Any thoughts?

Great question. It's something that we should have but I haven't found a decent solution yet. I should really revisit this issue. Any ideas or suggestions?

contact google.com. They already have a search function where you can designate a site only search. And I've seen their search boxes on other sites as well.

Dave,

If cost and development time are a big issue check out this link http://www.freefind.com/ It allows you to add a free search feature option as well as a professional version.

Or, you can post and ask what your looking for, might take more time, but you'll also make an online friend.

I have looked for a search on occasion too. Most recently to try to see if the there wasn't a listing of songs for videos a while back.

But yes, a search would be useful IMO.

What do you think of this: http://www.wakeworld.com/defaultsearch.asp. It's on the left side below the menus? It's not pretty, but it's free.

Works for me. Thanks.

Frank, you couldn't find the videos? Where did you look? The Video menu choice is right at the top of the menu under Equipment & Reviews.

Well, I thought that the music listings were a separate thing. I guess I never did look in the reviews...

Dave, that's better than nothing and looks like it'll do the job. The only question I have is how quickly updates to WW will show up in the search. For example, I don't think the latest news articles can be found, such as the APTW results for stop #4.

But free is a good, and any search capability is better than none!

The google search isnt bad, plus it is very powerful. Most universities use it and they have huge domains to search through. Go ahead and put a counter on it to see if it is worth putting it on the site for good. Personally I like it.

I'm impressed with the updates on the Google search. If I do a search right now it's showing articles that I put up last night!
