I have looked for a comparison and cant really find one so, is there a big difference in sound quality between the 2 or are they basically the same except the pro 60's are smaller. I could probably fit the pro80's but if there isn't much of a discernible difference I know the pro60's are gonna give me the extra headroom so just curious as to if there is a difference soundwise

The PRO 80's have more overall output. They both use the same technology and the same HLCD. But the HLCD is toned down a bit in the PRO 60 to mate up with the smaller mid bass. So with the PRO 80 you get more overall output and more mid bass due to the larger housing and larger driver.

So if you can fit the 80's they will give more output but a lot prefer the headroom of the PRO 60's and the 60's is our best seller due to the combination of size and output.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for asking this question and for Tim to answer it. I had the exact same question running around in my head. I've found a good price on the 60's, but the man in me wanted the big power of the 80's.

What kind of amp should I be looking at to power either the 60's or 80's?

The 60's like a solid 150 watts rms, the 80's like a solid 200 watts rms. Our new Syndicate amps are shipping soon. We have the SYN2 which is 200x2 and will run either the 60's or 80's or two sets of 60's or two sets of 80's. As you can power the 60's with 200 watts as well. So the SYN2 will work for any of the configs. We do have a few pieces in stock shipping now!!!

Ya me too just have the bigger is better mentality, does anyone know of somewhere in Seattle to pick up a pair of the 60's I live in Canada and am planning a trip down there in a couple weeks so figured I would get them while I was there instead because they are about $350 bucks cheaper than my local dealer quoted me.

I was thinking of using a kicker ZX850.4 for the 60's so they should get about 175rms each is that ok or too much overpowered?

Hey Tim,

You don't have your amps on your website. Are they not really release yet or ?

The 175 watts is good power, not too much. As we will be recomend our SYN2 to run either the 60's or 80's and it is 200 watts.

There is a pic on the main page of the web site. That is all I have put up so far. The amp is full polished stainless steel that you can see from the pics. We have finshed a handfull of the 6 ch and 2 ch. Full release will be in about 3 weeks of the 6 ch and 2 ch and about 6 weeks of the mono, small 2 ch and 4 ch.

Will they be class d full range similar to the Alpine. fosgate, ect technology?

They will not be class D. They are a new technology. Class H. They have more efficiency than most class D so less current draw like the Alpine pdx. But they have the sound quality of a class AB. Where most full range class d have some limitations on the sound quality. They are smaller size as well for the amount of power.

i wonder why Wetsounds doesn't go direct to consumer?

Seems like they have some hot products and a lot of demand and not a lot of dealers. I think i would be tempted to spend less time trying to build out a dealer network, and just drop a shopping cart on the website and let us buy right there.

tj,

We have hundreds of dealers across the US. Some in more pockets of the country than others. For areas we do not have dealers. We have 3 authorized online dealers that offer shopping carts for online purchases.

You can also contact us by phone or email to find the nearest dealer to you. I do not put a dealer locator on our site as we like to still stay in contact with our end users and feel it provides the best service this way.
