New F21 Tomcat:
1800 lbs stock ballast
100 inch beam
21 ft total length
fits in a 7 ft garage
This it their new price point boat and if you are close to Seattle Water Sports they have them at their store right now. Colorado Boat Center and Seventh Heaven have trucks on the way if you want to check them out and you live close to there as well.

there will be three graphics packages available, this is just one.

Sweet. I have heard really good stuff about the wake. New Board racks and I like the pads on the gunnels. I will be ordering a few on my next load.

what engine does MB use?

PCM 343 or PCM ZR6 (390 hp)

hmm, i like it a lot. Not so sure ab. the tribal patterns for the interior, but I really like the shape of the body and the interior lay-out in general. Nice clean looking dash too, cool boat.
Old     (talltigeguy)      Join Date: Sep 2003       06-19-2008, 8:29 AM Reply
Is it just me, or are the spikes on the front much shorter than on the Tomcat?

Pretty boat for sure.

I wonder about the chrome on the dash. It seems to reflect the light into the driver's eyes. It seems that everyone is going with more bling on the dash and I am not sure I like it when the sun is out and you go without your bimini.

the dash is more brushed, it's the same as on my Tomcat and it is not reflective at all.

The front forks are a lot shorter on this boat than on the 23 ft tomcat

what's the price on their "price point boat"?

nice looking

interested in seeing the other graphic options..

ian,
do those racks swivvel or no?
Old     (wakereviews)      Join Date: Sep 2006       06-19-2008, 8:52 AM Reply
don't have pics yet... racks do swivel. I think you can get one pretty loaded for about or under 50k but I am not sure about that. That is a total guess, you'd have to contact a dealer to find out as I just haven't seen any pricing info on it yet.
Old     (hatepain)      Join Date: Aug 2006       06-19-2008, 8:57 AM Reply
Beautiful boat to be sure. The pictures of the bow section make it appear very short as if one could hardly stretch out ones legs up there. Is it just an optical illusion? I really like the interior layout and the dash configuration is simple and looks to be easy to read.

I guess the big question now is does it throw a nice wake for boarding and surfing?
Old     (trash4life)      Join Date: Jun 2005       06-19-2008, 9:05 AM Reply
Interesting. Is the hull just a shrunk version of the larger tomcat or more like the B52? I was a little worried cause I just bought a new B52V and hadn't seen anything about this new tomcat. I was afraid that I may want the tomcat instead but I think I like the B52 better. Don't get me wrong, I think this new "price point boat" will be a good addition but I'm still getting used to the looks of the larger tomcat let alone this one. Maybe the other graphic options will help me like it better.

Cool looking boat, I like the clean graphics, the depth of the interior, the wide bow area and the shorter pickleforks. I would like to see it with the Tomcat style tower that swoops forward. I don't like the interior design, it is too much for me.

That boat is very nice looking. If it has a good wake and can actually sell for 50k then I think they found a winner.

the bow area looks really wide, and not as deep. looks like it would seat several comfortably. nice boat.

What about a Bimini?
Old     (fatsac)      Join Date: Jun 2004       06-19-2008, 11:53 AM Reply
Sick! What's the weight on trailer? If the wake is anything like the Tomcat, they definitely have a winner.

Just talked to the sales guy at Ski Masters (Seattle Water Sports) and he says this boat uses a Calabria Pure Vert type system. Wonder if there was any legal issues with them using a system like that?
Old     (wakereviews)      Join Date: Sep 2006       06-19-2008, 11:57 AM Reply
No, they've been using that system on all the '08 boats. I have it on my tomcat. the 2400 fills in about 90 seconds and drains in 30 seconds on plane. It's incredible.

Nice lines on the boat, but the Tribal upholstery graphic looks dated.

illkid

Mike Murphy can, and is, licensing that fill system to whoever he wants, its his gig.

This boat is sweet, I like it just from the pic's. Cant wait to see some surf pic's when someone gets some.

Kevin I asked the same question, it pops out and has a billet cap for the hole. Another chunk of metal to get lost in my garage :-)

Very nice looking boat.
Doesn't look like the racks in the pictures will swivel at all.

I must say I like it! I like the looks of the interior, lots of seating for a 21 ft. boat. I like the option for the playpen seating in the bow. MB has been coming out with some nice looking boats.

I have never been a fan of the looks on the new Tomcat 23 tower and large prongs on the front, however this one seems to look pretty darn sharp. Also looks like a lot of interior room for a 21 footer.

The back storage compartments look really short in the picture. Can you get a 142 or so wakeboard with bindings attached in there?

how are the surf wakes behind this thing

If its a price point boat what does it list at. The X1 was a price point boat but good luck getting one much under 50.

MB is definitely going in the right direction - I think this is the best looking boat of theirs that I have seen. The interior view in the 6th picture looks very nice.

If you can't get the boat on plane (ie engine dies) can you still drain the ballast to get it on a trailer? I guess if it will, it just takes a lot longer? I've always liked their ballast setup with the two huge tanks under each side.

Nice looking MB. I'm digging the new look. Is the first photo taken at the Sporting Edge in Antioch, CA? That parking lot looks familiar.

Thanks for the pics Ian!
The F21 looks sweet, I'll have to swing over to Seattle WaterSports for a closer look.
Pads on the gunnels are a nice touch. The tower is kinda different, I'd like to see an original F23 tower on this boat.
Board racks have changed, can a wakesurfer fit in those? More graphic packages for ’09, gotta like that.
I wonder if the ski pylon is retractable? No pics of the swim step or transom, it looks like the transom is notched like the F23?
The trunks look tiny, they have gotten smaller every year on the B52’s. I have always liked the Tomcat dash, it is simple and uncluttered.
Bow seating looks a little short. The forks have been trimmed and look much better!
Nice to finally see the spotters seat on a 21 footer, the spot behind the driver never had a back to it, plus it’s a good spot for a sub!
The one piece windshield is good lookin. I think some bow lights similar to the F23 would look nice.
Hey Alan, I thought I read that the PCM ZR6 horsepower was bumped up to 409 for ’09 ?
Should be interesting to see what tweaks are in store for the B52’s in ’09 !

I saw these boats this weekend at Tulloch. They look real nice. I saw one with the swoop's Just like the one "Only" posted above it was a Red White and Black pattern look'd cool. I like the look of the shorter boat compaired to the longer pickle fork. Im not counting but is this the 2nd or 3rd MC x2 look alike boat?

the racks do look like the 03 MC, and when they break it sucks! IMO the worst racks ever
Old     (alans)      Join Date: Aug 2005       07-02-2008, 3:14 PM Reply
The racks are nothing like the 03 Mastercraft racks. These racks have gears and release with a button, no gas shock.

I think the interiors have taken a big step with this model. MB's keep getting better...
I love the fact that MB licensed the "Pure Vert" ballast system, no hassling with small stock systems, and piggy-backing sacks on top, ie. MC X-star High fly system.

great job for a 21 footer. mb really has its own west coast style. hopefully it really hits the price.

what is the freeboard on that boat? the drivers seat looks massive.

WOW!
Mike and Dustin Brendel came drove up today and dropped off our first F21 Tomcat. I was very impressed. Not under powered with the Excalibur, handles amazing in the heavy water, and a wake that insane!
