It depends on what you are trying to do. This is what I have done before (outside mounted flush ). Use 3/4 mdf. Cut the hole your are wanting to cover with plexi, for example purposes well say a 10X10. Router the lip of the 10X10 hole deep enough to make the plexi flush with the ouside of the box. Cut your plexi to sit on the lip of the routered area - depending on routered area it will be about 11 X 11 piece of plexi. Find some nice stainless screws to screws the plexi to the lip. Pre drill the holes on then plexi - get a countersink bit and use this for the holes. Your plexi should rest on the lip and with the countersunk holes your screws should mount flush. The hardest part in this process is trying to router a nice even lip. To do this on the inside it is the same process. You might not have to router out a lip on the inside. Just use short screws that wont pop through. This is of course if you are building the box from scratch. Be careful on the plexi glass and dont tighten the screws to much or it will crack it pretty easy.
