can do 360's and was wondering how to take it to a 540? when i try to go bigger for more air time for the 5, i seem to fall of axis. any tips?

Sounds like you are rushing it wait for the pop and snap the handle to spin. It is a quick hard snap. Also edge a little harder. Ts 540 are easer than Hs you haft to pass the handle twice. good luck.

Yes, it does sound like you are rushing it if you are going off axis. Make sure you have your three's down solid with time to spare before trying this trick. It didn't take too long to land my first one but it's taken me forever to get them consistent. Get out and do them at least once or twice every time you ride.

Some more tips:
Keep the handle in close to your body when passing it.

Make your jumps lofty. You can achieve this by taking a shorter cut into the wake and exaggerating the proper edge technique.

Other than that, it's all about numbers my friend. I can't tell you how long it's taken to get my 5's consistent.

thanks for the advice...is it easier to do a 3 w/ a grab. any advice on those?

Yes. Try a heelside slob 3. Bring your knees up more, while doing the three, and when they are up grab with your front hand really quick, then release it to grab the handle. The rest you already know. It's not as hard as it seems, you'll actually get higher and have more time to do the rotation.
