I have a 2001 tige 21i riders edition and it throws a decent wake for an older boat. i want the wake to be bigger and i was wondering if i should get some fat sacs. ive heard that if u have the taps system then weighing the boat is pointless. so basically if i drop the cash on sacks will my wake get any bigger? or will i just be burning gas?

Deffintley get some weight. I usually ride behind an 03 21i (same hull?). The taps plate does very little if any to the actual wake size, more just for shape. In fact, when it is in wakeboard mode, the plate isnt even touching the water. It has the Rival ballast system, I would guess its around 7-800 pounds, between 3 bags (2 front, 1 rear). If you're going to be adding just fat sacs and dont mind if they are in the open, try putting one of the tube sacs up front in the walkway, and one in the back compartment, or under the rear seat. Thatd be a good place to start. Try to weight that boat pretty even front to back, that worked best for me. Another option would be to put 2 sacs on either side of the engine box. Straight Line I believe makes 2 seats that go next to the engine box, I think they hold somewhere around 500lbs a piece, that would be another good choice too. I would say start somewhere around 1000 lbs extra weight, just make sure you keep it balanced. If you have any other questions I'll try to help.

hey man I have a 2000 21v and I have about 600 lbs in the back (about 300 in each side) and then an additional 300-400 under the front seats. It makes a great wake and then you are able to fine tune the shape with the taps (whether or not you want a steep or rampy wake). however much weight you decide to use remember to put about 2/3 of it in the back and the rest up front. too much weight in the rear causes a larger soft wake. too much in the front causes a smaller hard wake.
