Anybody know anything about this new company http://www.alliancewake.com/wake/phalanx-wake-spy-photos-part-2/? The board kinda looks like a flexer? There were some riding pics but they got taken down pretty quick!

Def. Not GBrider. I just know some details and PHALANX is going to take over the world... The language on the phalanx blog is just a test, it cant not be translated cause it doesnt say anything legible.

Should be ex_GB_rider. I use to be the Midwest reb for GB in 2003-2005. I know a lot of industry people. I know the guys testing the boards will shock you when you hear who they are. Stay tuned. Back in the day Chase and Matt ripped.

Ex-GB (and everything else under the sun) rep Troy Flick is behind it. From what I understand they are going to be "engineered core" boards similar to what Company is doing, "but on a higher level," according to Troy.

That's a sick name too. PHALANX----- a body of heavily armed infantry in ancient Greece formed in close deep ranks and files; broadly : a body of troops in close array

THAT WAKE IS SERIOUS!!!! i would be seriously impressed if that was an axis because other vids of randall riding behind it.. the wake doesnt look like much and ricky g rides about 26-27 mph. Not much slower. SO. I wanna know wat he is behind.

What I am interested in seeing aside from the new Decks that Ricky is Making, is what the Future is going to Be fore GB. They lost some serious big hitters in the Last few years, Lidberg, Vandall, and Now Ricky G. Its my understanding that the 2010 line is the 2009 Line as well and they were not at Expo.

Andy, I was wondering the same thing. As far as riders I can remember, Racinelli and Doyle are all I can think of that are still on GB. Ricky, can you give us some insight into where GB is heading in the future?

GB probably did not have the funds available to sustain the higher level riders on their team. they have been struggling for years already, and if I am not mistaken, Gator's dad kept them afloat for a couple years. (purely hearsay) as a rider owned company, I wish them the best. It does not look good for them at this time though.

Being able to start up/ be apart of your own company seems to be the attraction outside GB... at least that is what it was for the Vandall and i bet the same with Ricky. I bet they have nothing but the best wishes and feelings for GB. (not saying there ever were negative) GB gear for 2009 (and 2010) was (is) some of the most impressive looking stuff i have seen, especially the colors and graphics IMO. definitely curious to the future of GB too Most of these new companies (Company, Humanoid, Sine, Phalanx,...) seem to be working equally heavy, if not heavier on the guts and core materials as the outer shape. maybe securing a piece of this innovation and new direction before the larger companies fully understand and dip into it, is part of the drive of these new comers?

I'm really liking everything that i'm hearing and seeing with PHALANX. I think with this work ethic and what seems to be a group of guys all with their heads on their shoulders, success will be the end result. Has anyone ever thought about making a board out of what a snowboard is made of? Like use the EXACT same material but maybe a little thicker and shaped like a wakeboard obviously

Kyle, thanks for the props! As far as your comment about using snowboard materials... well, we are building our boards exactly like a snowboard. Same exact construction process and the same raw materials. We're pretty much a wider, thicker snowboard. The main difference is, loose the the metal edges, or maybe! hahahha....As a matter of fact our factory is out of Denver, CO and builds snowboards. We're working really hard right now on prototyping and testing our boards. Keep checking into the website and blog, we're going to be updating you guys as much as possible. >RC
