supreme ballast pump problem (fuse pops)

warm water coming and I need to fix my boat quick! When I goto fill my ballasts with the toggle switches more often than not the fuse pops out. I play with the switch back and forth and can usually get it going, but want to fix it. I am thinking that the pumps are old and worn out or maybe just old fuses. Any thoughts on what it might be or how to troubleshoot this? I would really like to take care of this problem myself rather than goto shop.

it pretty much is a common problem on these boats. do a quicke search on supremes and i think a fella responds about taking the pump apart and lubing the impeller part with silicone and then putting it back together ...
